Second bedroom is upstairs - you'll feel like you're in a treehouse. (one with 5' 10" ceilings) Three single platform beds- one medium and two firm mattresses. Books and games provided. The couch in the main living area can be turned into a double bed for two guests. When weather allows the three-season sunroom makes a great summer sleeping room- the Ashley queen sleeper couch can sleep 2 guests. (bringing the sleeping capacity to 9) This space also is a great place to relax at the end of the day and avoid the mosquitos. Fully equipped kitchen! Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, blender, toaster, and bakeware. Coffee maker is a high-end Saeco automatic espresso machine, provisioned with our favorite locally roasted coffee beans. With the press of a button, you will enjoy a flavorful cup of coffee. Tea drinkers can try different varieties of green, black and herbal teas from our local tea shop. Sugar, creamer, and spices are also provided for your use. Main floor laundry room includes compact size washer & dryer, with detergent provided, as well as a ironing board & iron. GUEST ACCESS
The entire home is yours to enjoy. The garage is not included in the rental but there is a double wide driveway and plenty of on street parking. The backyard deck and front porch make wonderful places to enjoy coffee, drinks, or just time outdoors. The large backyard is perfect for yard games. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We came up with the name, Stone's Throw Cottage, because we are literally a stone's throw away- right next door. We are happy to assist you during your stay and can always be reached by phone or text. We provide restaurant, cafe and shopping suggestions on an info sheet. THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Located in a quiet neighborhood at the base of hedgehog bluff. GETTING AROUND
You'll see lots of people biking and walking in La Crosse. Downtown and the Mississippi river are a 20 minute bike ride through lovely historic neighborhoods. Bluffview park (access to tennis courts, playground and basketball courts), Central High School, and Schmidty's, a local restaurant/bar, are an easy walk away. From this location, almost everything in La Crosse is a 5-10 minute drive...including universities, hospitals, hiking trails, Mt. La Crosse, historic downtown, Mississippi River, Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, Pearl Street Brewery, Oktoberfest Grounds, La Crosse Center
