Squirrel hunting is a great first step into hunting. It’s affordable, simple, and a solid excuse to spend some time in the woods together. 🌳

Louisiana squirrel season runs 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮–𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟰.
𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀:
🎯 Basic hunting license required
👧 Hunters 17 and under do NOT need a youth license for squirrels
🐿️ Species: gray squirrel & fox squirrel
📊 Bag limit: 3 per day | Possession limit: 9

🌿 Many LDWF public lands are open for hunting opportunities, but remember, some areas (including Kisatchie National Forest, select national wildlife refuges, USACE property, and some WMAs) are closed, so always check before you go.

🪪 Reminder: WMA users must have a WMA Access Permit or qualifying license.
