This 1953 T-28C Navy Trainer stopped in for fuel today at the Rusty Allan Airport. These airplanes taught many naval pilot the art of aviating. Fairly rare occurrence as there aren’t too many of these flying in civilian hands. Note the “USS Lexington” on the tail. The Lexington, which is now in Corpus Christi, was a training carrier in it’s post-war life, and these aircraft were used to give cadets their carrier qualifications. .
