Tomorrow, the Leg 1 crew will be sailing aboard Ka ʻUhane Holokai and Ka Laʻi ʻĀhiu from Heʻeia to Hauʻula Beach Park.

Today’s training focused on the safety of both the crew and the canoe. We spent time trying on harnesses and learning to recognize their key safety features, followed by hands-on practice using the emergency release systems. We also ran a man overboard (MOB) drill, including a land-based simulation to better understand roles and response timing. Alongside this, we shared different MOB scenarios to strengthen our awareness and decision-making. The session wrapped up with updates on recent logistics, ensuring everyone is aligned and prepared moving forward.
