I’m heading to Universal Orlando later this month with MFM Travel Co. for an exclusive FAM trip, and I am SO excited to be at Universal for this!

One of the most common questions I get is:

“When is the best time to go to Disney?”

And honestly? The best time is not whatever all the moms in the Facebook group said. 😂

It is the best time for your family.

Because the “perfect” week for one family might be a terrible fit for yours.

Some families care most about lower crowds. Some need the cheapest dates possible. Some can only travel around school breaks. Some cannot handle August heat. Some want holiday decorations. Some need built-in rest days and shorter park hours. Some are totally fine pulling kids from school if it means saving money.

Posts like this pop up ALL the time from families checking out who don’t want their leftover stuff to go to waste.

Sometimes it’s just a few bottles of water, unopened snacks, or groceries… but I’ve seen people leave behind strollers, Mickey ears, ponchos, cases of water, fans, souvenirs and all kinds of goodies — totally FREE for whoever can grab them first!

Search your resort name + your travel dates on Facebook before your trip and join the group. You never know what little bit of Disney pixie dust might show up! 🥰

Believe it or not, your Walt Disney World trip should feel like a vacation, not a military operation with matching shirts and a color-coded binder for every bathroom break. 😂

Yes, Disney takes planning.

Dining reservations matter. Lightning Lane can matter. Choosing the right park days matters. Having a realistic itinerary matters.

But there is a difference between having a plan and overplanning every second of the trip.

Because if every minute is scheduled, there is no room for:

tired kids overstimulation pool breaks a slow morning a snack you randomly spotted a ride your kids want to do again someone needing to just sit in the shade for 20 minutes

That flexibility can be the difference between “this was magical” and “why is everyone crying by 3 p.m.?”

The big thing to know?

You usually have to book within 7 days of your current checkout date.
