A good theme park strategy is not one-size-fits-all. 🎢

The best plan for summer is not always the best plan for fall, holiday, or spring break.

A few things that should change with the season:
☀️ Summer: prioritize heat, storms, and midday breaks
🎃 Fall: watch for party schedules and shorter park hours
🎄 Holiday season: expect bigger crowds and plan around popular entertainment
🌸 Spring break: rope drop matters more, and flexibility matters too
📅 Off-season: use lighter crowds to slow down and do more by area

As a travel agent, vacations aren’t only just for fun - they’re also great for learning and trying new things! ✨

Over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, my husband and I ventured down for a little “staycation” at Disney World! Not only did we have a great time, but we also tried SO many new things so that I can help YOU - my clients - have the best experience on your own Disney trips!

We knocked out a lot of Disney FIRSTS for us!
✨ driving to Disney!!! (first long road trip for these Butlers!)
✨ eating at The Boathouse at Disney Springs
✨ golf day for Carson (not a first, but always worth mentioning!)
✨ getting a special annual pass magnet
✨ solo park day for me
✨ staying at Pop Century
✨ taking a Skyliner date to the Riviera Resort for dinner
✨ staying at the Yacht Club!!! (dream stay!)
✨ enjoying the pool at our resort all weekend - Stormalong Bay! (Rumored to be the BEST pool on Disney property… have to agree!)
✨ ate at Beaches and Cream at Beach Club
✨ watching the EPCOT fireworks from the Yacht and Beach Club
✨ trying the infamous foot long mozzarella stick at the Boardwalk
✨ resort hopping on the monorail
✨ dinner at Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary
✨ dole whip at the Polynesian (our fave!)
✨ watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Polynesian beach
✨ breakfast at Ale & Compass at Yacht Club

The list goes on! We LOVE the parks, but I’m so glad we got to experience everything else that Disney has to offer so that I can better serve you as well! 🩷

If there’s one part of the trip you’re most excited about, try to put it on the front end of your vacation.

Why? Because the longer a trip goes, the more chances there are for something to shift:
🧳 delays
🌧 weather changes
😴 tired kids (and tired adults)
🤒 not feeling great
🔄 schedule changes
🚗 unexpected travel hiccups

That doesn’t mean the whole trip falls apart — it just means your energy, flexibility, and margin are usually best earlier on.

A simple planning tip:
Put your must-do moment in the first half of the trip whenever possible.

That could be: the big excursion, the hardest-to-get reservation, the special dinner, the theme park day, the family photo session, the experience that would disappoint you most to miss, etc.

A good rule of thumb:
If losing it would really change how the trip feels, don’t leave it until the very end.

Sometimes smart travel planning is less about doing more… and more about putting the right things in the right order 💛

My clients are traveling to Tuscaloosa in October for a wedding and wanted a hotel that is close to all of the wedding festivities! I was able to book them one that was nice and within walking distance to everything!

Look at the total trip cost — not just the price tag.

A trip can look like an amazing deal until the “little extras” start stacking up.

Before you book, take 2 minutes to total the real cost:
🔹 Flights + baggage fees
🔹 Transfers/transportation (airport to hotel, rental car, parking)
🔹 Resort fees + taxes
🔹 Food & drinks (if not included)
🔹 Excursions/activities
🔹 Travel protection (highly recommended for many trips)
🔹 Tips/gratuities
🔹 Location costs (are you paying more to get where you actually want to be?)

Sometimes the “cheaper” option ends up costing more — or just feels less enjoyable because everything is an add-on.
