Fresh snow and sunny skies ahead!
The Adirondack region has just experienced a spring snowstorm, generously blanketing the area with snow! As we transition back into this wintry scene, we want to ensure everyone is prepared for the conditions ahead.

Despite the snow on the ground, we're thrilled to announce that the SUN will be making a triumphant return, bringing clear skies for the eagerly awaited total solar eclipse on Monday. As we gear up to welcome you for this remarkable celestial event, here's what you need to know to make the most of your experience:
Bring Winter Gear
Pack appropriately for the conditions. Be sure to bring winter coats, boots, gloves, hats, and any other cold-weather gear to stay warm and comfortable during your eclipse viewing adventure.
Make a Plan
Plan your eclipse viewing location in advance, and don't forget to check designated parking areas. Have a backup plan ready for any potential traffic or weather-related issues.
Be Prepared
With an influx of visitors expected, it's crucial to be prepared. Keep extra layers, snacks, and water handy, and ensure your vehicle is fueled up before setting out. Stay informed about weather forecasts and road conditions, and be flexible with your travel route if needed.
Save the Mountains for Another Time
While the Adirondack mountains offer stunning vistas, they are not ideal for eclipse viewing due to unpredictable weather, risks of flooding due to high water, and spring trail conditions. Help preserve our trails by utilizing designated viewing spots and keeping the trails pristine for future enjoyment.

Placid Boat Rentals Seeking Employees

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This person will assist in the daily operation of the boat shop at Placid Boat Rentals, accommodate all customers, and assist in general maintenance of the Property.
•Greet customers upon arrival
•Ensure all customers have an exceptional experience
•Maintain and enforce rules to ensure the safety and compliance of all guests
•Perform daily inspection of boat
•Verify all boats have arrived / departed according to their reservations
•Upon vessel departures, verify all accounts are up to date and paid in full
•Maintain a clean property
•Take proactive approach to severe weather prevention; steps to secure and protect vessels, customer
•Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers
•All other duties as assigned by management

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Drivers License
2. Some knowledge of boating/marina operations or willingness to be trained in them
3. Ability to work independently
4. Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
5. Effective communicator who can collaborate with teammates and guests
6. Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season;

The water is still pretty chilly, but the air is getting mighty warm!

Make sure you're prepared for cold water submersion just in case you find yourself in the drink while you're out paddling! Create a checklist of everything you'll need for end of spring paddling, and don't forget to bring a partner/tell a friend where you're going!
