It just not fair that we don’t get the last word from bobby_prender0 Coming back on our page to call them “rip-offs” again doesn’t make it true. You already have the detailed message I sent you on how these boats are actually built — vacuum-infused parts, veteran craftsmen, and some of the finest work we know how to put into a hull. That’s construction, not a copy-and-paste.
Boatbuilding has always worked this way, for decades and generations. Classic Boston Whalers weren’t born out of thin air in the late 1950s. Dick Fisher and Ray Hunt evolved them from Albert Hickman’s Sea Sled designs of the 1910s–1930s. Same story up and down the coast. New Jersey builders studied each other’s inlets and hulls for generations. Palm Beach yards (Rybovich and the rest) set lines that Carolina builders openly admired, borrowed, and then made their own with more flare and a different ride for Oregon Inlet and the Stream. Carolina shops have been doing that to each other for 50-plus years. Nobody serious in this trade pretends good boats appear with no lineage.
We take the look and purpose of those 1960s–70s classics and build them the way we know how to build them now. Different construction, different standards, same respect for what worked. If you want to talk construction, the details are already in front of you. If you just want to keep saying “rip-off,” that’s on you — it doesn’t change how the boats are made.
