The 2026 Poker Run is underway, and Laramie Regional Airport is one of this year’s designated stops!

Pilots and drivers can collect cards at participating airports through October 17 while supporting scholarships and programs that empower women in aviation. Hands are $20 each, with a variety of aviation experiences, local attractions and other prizes available.

Come work with us!

Laramie Regional Airport is looking for a dependable, service-minded person to join our team as a part-time Airport Operations Specialist.

This is a hands-on position involving airfield and facility inspections, aircraft fueling and servicing, general maintenance, and providing excellent customer service to our tenants, visitors and community.

The position offers up to 24 hours per week and is non-benefited. If you take pride in doing important work well and would enjoy being part of a small, professional airport team, we would love to hear from you.

Now this is a head-turner.

This pristine Boeing A75N1 (PT-17) Stearman Kaydet stopped at Laramie Regional Airport while flying from Riverside, California, to Galesburg, Illinois, for the National Stearman Fly-In, taking place September 7–12.

Its brilliant blue-and-yellow finish looked absolutely spectacular on the ramp. We’re always delighted when a beautiful piece of aviation history chooses LAR as a stop along the way.

If you see a pair of beefy orange aircraft flying over the region, here’s what they’re doing!

Two aircraft from the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Service are currently conducting Golden Eagle population surveys. This one, N702, is a 2010 Quest Kodiak 100—a rugged single-engine turboprop designed for STOL, or Short Takeoff and Landing, operations.

With its high wing, sturdy fixed landing gear and ability to operate from short, rough and unimproved airstrips, the Kodiak is particularly well suited to wildlife surveys and other missions in remote areas.

We’re pleased to welcome the crews to LAR and support this important work from Laramie Regional Airport.

A recent visitor to LAR brought a striking piece of aviation history to the hangar.

This 1983 Aero Vodochody L-39C Albatros is a two-seat, single-engine jet originally designed for military flight training. Nearly 3,000 aircraft from the L-39 family were produced, and many remain in service with military and civilian operators around the world.

This privately owned Albatros wears tribute markings honoring VMFA-531, the U.S. Marine Corps’ “Grey Ghosts.” The squadron traces its history to 1942 and served through World War II, Vietnam and the final years of the Cold War before being deactivated in 1992.

It was a real pleasure getting a closer look at this beautifully preserved and unmistakable aircraft.

This sharp-looking 2008 Eclipse EA500 visited LAR last week—and this sporty little jet looks fast even when it’s standing still!

The EA500 is a compact, six-seat very light jet powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada turbofan engines. Inside, its integrated Avio glass cockpit replaces most traditional flight instruments with three large digital displays, giving the pilots essential flight and aircraft information at a glance.

Small, sleek and built for speed, this was another great visitor to the ramp at Laramie Regional Airport.

This beautiful 1990 Aérospatiale AS332 L1 Super Puma stopped at LAR for fuel last week while traveling from Spearfish, South Dakota, to R***e, Colorado, where the crew was headed to support firefighting efforts.

The twin-engine Super Puma is a powerful medium-lift helicopter well suited to transporting crews, equipment and water in support of wildland firefighting operations.

We also discovered that the copilot takes in-flight snacks seriously! A cantaloupe was safely tucked beneath the seat for later, so we sent the crew on their way with some Palisade peaches to round out the fresh-fruit selection.

Safe travels, and thank you for the important work you do!
