This used to be my least favorite benefit. Now, I can actually make use of it!

Most recently, I used in for a girls trip in Vegas at the Conrad (a hotel collection). We had no idea we accidentally booked Superbowl weekend 😬. So hotels were a bit more, but the credit brought the room down to about ~$250/ night for two nights

The AmEx Platinum is obviously very pricey at $895/ year, so if you’re going to keep it, you definitely want to maximize all the benefits!

✨Comment “Transfer” if you want my guide on how to transfer your points from all major credit cards to multiple airlines and hotels 🙌

➡️ First, I booked this with hotels by transferring over my Chase points!

📌Your Chase points can be transferred to Hyatt hotels directly for the same amount (1,000 Chase points = 1,000 Hyatt points) as of right now. This will change on Oct 1 if you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred, but will remain the same if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve.

📌After October 1, then it will go to a 4:3 ratio (4,000 Chase points = 3,000 Hyatt points) unless you have a Reserve card for existing cardholders

➡️ If, however, you got the Chase Sapphire Preferred card AFTER June 15, 2026, your points already transfer at the new, lower, value of 4:3

📌Hyatt works off a category chart, and lower category hotels are less points/ night, and start at only 3,500 points/night!

➡️To find hotels by category:

1. Go to https://www.hyatt.com/explore-hotels/list
2. At the top, you will see “Award category” and can filter for the categories you’re looking for. I chose “Category 1 & 2” to search
3. Scroll down and choose the region you’re looking to travel (I chose Europe) and you will get a drop down of all hotels in that region that fall within the categories you chose to search for!

🎉I stayed at Stockholm North and absolutely LOVED it! It was well located, a great size and gave free breakfast and sparkling water every day!

‼️I should add that since I booked, the hotel went from Category 1 > Category 2, so now the lowest this goes is 6,000 points/ night in the off-season and is 7,500 points/night during the high season (like summer when I went)
