EAA Chapter 863, is a local organization that is part of the national Experimental Aircraft Association, and is dedicated to growing participation in aviation by sharing the ways people can get started in this fun and fulfilling recreation.

EAA’s Flying Start program introduces interested individuals to the endless opportunities and fun that result in earning a pilot certificate. The event will cover the steps and requirements in learning to fly, provide tips on how to make it economical, and will culminate in a free introductory flight for attendees age 18 and up!, weather permitting.

It was a wonderful night for Chapter 863 to welcome Jim Busha, VP EAA, speaking about his recent book recounting the life of LT Col Charles “Bazooka Charlie” Carpenter and the Piper L-4 “Rosie the Rocketer”. Jim did a fantastic job sharing and briefing on the current status of EAA. We have a wonderful organization to be a part of in by helping promote all areas of Aviation. Thanks Jim and Holly for spending time with us this evening.

Another EAA863 5th Saturday breakfast in the books! That’s a wrap for 2023 breakfasts and we blew the doors off on our last one! 180 served for breakfast and 74 Young Eagle flights! Thanks to everyone who served to make this all happen. We couldn’t do it without you. From safety, cooking and cleanup. Everyone’s role is important! Thank you to the Sattler Foundation for Aerospace Education for continued usage of the hangar and Direct Flight Solutions at M54- Lebanon Municipal Airport for another safe event!

Great day for an EAA 863 Lebanon Tennessee event! The rain didn’t hold us back. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and hung out with friends Sattler Foundation for Aerospace Education and Direct Flight Solutions at M54- Lebanon Municipal Airport!! Lots of airplane stories were shared while the weather held us back from flying! Thanks everyone for your support! We appreciate you!
