Leesburg Airport Users:

Operations at Leesburg Airport (JYO) will be greatly impacted January 18th-22nd by the Presidential Inauguration with hundreds of business aircraft flooding the region - transiting in/out of JYO during these dates may be difficult.

Kuhn Jet Center is handling all logistics related to the influx of aircraft. All open pavement will be utilized for overnight parking, deplaning, loading and boarding in addition to high volumes of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Due to the volume, taxilanes, tie-downs and hangars will be periodically blocked by parked aircraft and FBO customers might experience lengthy waiting times for service if needed. If you do plan to fly (either arriving or departing), Kuhn Jet Center requests that you call their customer service desk at (703) 665-3000 before heading to the airport.

As of 3pm January 15th, FAA has issued a TFR NOTAM restricting operations at JYO on Monday, January 20th - https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_5_3852.html

The Leesburg Airshow is this Saturday. Gates will open at 11 a.m. and there will be plenty to see prior to the aerobatic performances.

The airshow’s static display area, located on the airport’s tarmac, will feature a variety of modern and antique aircraft, including The Spirit of Freedom, a C-54 Skymaster that played an important role in the Berlin Airlift and a UH-1 (Huey helicopter) restored by the Liberty Warbirds.

For the first time ever, the Leesburg Airshow will be hosting a US Navy F-18 Super Hornet, the fighter jet featured in Top Gun: Maverick. Please note that all performers and static displays are subject to change.

Attendees will also enjoy aviation-related displays, educational activities and exhibits, inflatable slides for the kids, and a variety of food and beverage vendors. Craft beer will be available for purchase.
