I would like to give a special shout out to Geraldine because she has gone WAY above and beyond the call of duty the last 2 days with a load of pasta.
Geraldine picked up a load of pasta in Pennsylvania Sunday to deliver at midnight on Monday at midnight. The store she delivered to would not accept some of the pasta, saying it was damaged in some way. Monday we took all of the steps our customer asked, but the company designated to take the damaged product would not accept it. We tried a charity we normally deliver to, but they were full. All night Monday she tried to give it away at a truck stop, with no luck. Today, our customer she was picking up from told her to go down the street to the truck stop, and the lady at the truck stop made some calls, that turned into more calls, and people started coming to the truck stop excited and grateful.
Geraldine called in and said, "This is the greatest feeling ever that we are able to do something so nice for people in need. Len, they are so grateful too and smiling." She was able to give away all the remaining pasta that was on her trailer. One of the guys even took the remaining pallets off her trailer, and swept it out for her.
Geraldine definitely gets a from me. The only complaint that she had through the entire process is how at the first stop people acted about her giving away "free food". However, today made up for it tenfold. She gave me goosebumps just listening to her excitement about doing something so kind, and her description of the folks coming. It's great to work for a company that cares enough to pull out all the stops to help others. Thank you again Geraldine for all you do.
Thank you Lennis for sharing this story. If you see Geraldine, thank her for doing all she did.
