The Budweiser Clydesdales convoy rolled into Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop today, and boy, was it a sight to see them arrive! They certainly know how to make an entrance. ❤️

We were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to welcome the crew and show them around the shop. But we have to admit… it was pretty hard not to stop and simply stand in awe of those magnificent Clydesdales!

A huge THANK YOU to the crew for stopping by and spending some time with us. It was an absolute pleasure having you swing by and see us.

🗓️ Mark your calendars! This September, Doug will be in Ketchum, Idaho, for Wagon Days Ketchum Idaho, taking an up-close look at the engineering and ingenuity behind the historic Lewis Big Hitch Ore Wagons.

Doug will lead an interactive presentation, “Engineering the Lewis Big Hitch,” with the complete hitch on display on Fourth Street outside the Wood River Museum of History and Culture.

These massive freight wagons were built to handle the demanding conditions of Idaho’s mining country and Doug will share more about how they were engineered, operated, and restored.

The Wyoming State Museum recently shared a great video featuring two of its historic Yellowstone vehicles, including Observation Wagon 99. Seeing Wagon 99 featured again gave us a chance to revisit the conservation and restoration work we had the privilege of doing on this remarkable coach several years ago.

During the conservation process, we carefully removed layers of paint and discovered that much of the original paint, lettering, and striping was still intact. Rather than covering it up, we worked with the museum to preserve as much of the original finish as possible.

And perhaps the most exciting discovery? We uncovered the original Abbot-Downing maker’s stencil. Something we had never found on another Yellowstone coach!

A little late in posting, but we had a great time bringing our 3/4-scale 250th Anniversary Stagecoach to the Palace City Pre-Sturgis Party in downtown Mitchell on August 6!

It was wonderful to see so many people come out, stop by, and take a closer look at the coach. We especially enjoyed visiting with everyone who came to say hello and learn more about this special project celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

And we had a fun surprise when Mickey Harris, the talented artist who did the airbrushing on the coach, stopped by for a visit!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by and enjoyed the stagecoach with us! We’re grateful to be part of events like this in our hometown and to have the opportunity to share what we do with our community.

What a wonderful weekend in Granbury, Texas!🤠

Doug was honored to be part of the American Chuck Wagon Association conference and to share his presentation with such a wonderful group of people who share a passion for wagons and history.

A big thank you to ACWA for putting together such a great event and to everyone who attended, shared their knowledge, displayed their wagons, and helped make the weekend such a success. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and learn from so many knowledgeable people.

If you have a passion for wagons, wagon history, craftsmanship, restoration, or preserving these incredible pieces of our past, the American Chuck Wagon Association’s “Preserving the Future of the Wooden Wheel Wagon” conference is an event you won’t want to miss.

📅 August 14–15, 2026
📍 Lake Granbury Conference Center | Granbury, Texas
Over two days, the conference will bring together knowledgeable craftsmen, historians, collectors, and wagon enthusiasts for presentations, demonstrations, panel discussions, breakout sessions, networking, vendors, and historic wagons on display.

Among the featured presenters are:
