We were so fortunate to help send off Kentucky's veterans last Saturday on Honor Flight Kentucky's second mission of 2026! After a day of touring the monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C., we welcomed those same veterans home with a water cannon salute and a community celebration.

⚠️Attention LEX travelers! This Saturday, August 29, is the second Honor Flight of 2026! We are so fortunate to help send off these veterans to their tour of the monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C. and welcome them home later that day.

For those traveling out of LEX that morning, we wanted to share a reminder to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure. Arriving early gives you more time to check bags, pass through TSA security checkpoint and find your gate. Arriving early also helps us ensure that our Kentucky veterans can board their flight safely and efficiently!

Join us Saturday, August 29, as we welcome the veterans on Honor Flight Kentucky's tour of the monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C. Attendees should arrive at 6:45 pm. Complimentary parking and a shuttle to the terminal will be available in the overflow lot.

For our fourth and final spotlight of , we're showcasing American Airlines!

American Airlines offers non-stop service to Charlotte, Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW) and Philadelphia, and seasonal non-stop service to Miami.

American has five special flight options during Breeders' Cup weekend, providing special, non-stop service to Boston, New York (JFK), Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix.

We recently welcomed a second daily Delta flight to New York LaGuardia Airport, providing travelers with more flexibility when visiting NYC.

For day two of , we're spotlighting Allegiant!

Allegiant offers non-stop service to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando (SFB), Punta Gorda, Sarasota and St. Pete/Clearwater, and seasonal non-stop service to Destin and Myrtle Beach.

United offers non-stop service to Chicago (ORD) and Denver.

In May 2026, United's Denver flight got an upgrade to a larger aircraft, making flights more comfortable and convenient.

Blue Grass Airport is ready for takeoff! Last Friday, Congressman Andy Barr and Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy announced a $17 million investment in modernizing the air traffic control system. This investment brings us one step closer toward enhancing safety and relocating the air traffic control tower at LEX.

This announcement comes alongside a $3.8 million investment to modernize our restroom facilities and make them family-friendly.

Volunteer on Wednesday, September 9 for a half day and play the role of a "passenger" or "family member" during Blue Grass Airport's full-scale emergency exercise.

From 9:00 am-1:00 pm, join us in helping airport staff and local emergency responders practice their skills and train for the unexpected.
