🇺🇸 A HERO’S FINAL JOURNEY HOME 🇺🇸

Today, Clinton National Airport had the solemn honor of joining family members welcoming home U.S. Army Air Forces Technician Fourth Grade William P. Butler, a World War II serviceman who died as a prisoner of war in 1942.

Missing for more than 80 years, Butler’s remains were finally identified last year, allowing him to make his final return home.

His homecoming reminds us all of the extraordinary sacrifices made by those who serve our country.

Welcome Home, TEC4 Butler. Thank you for your service. ❤️

🌟 FACES OF LIT: A big shoutout to Gwen for literally going the extra mile for one of our recent passengers!

"Gwen received a call from an elderly passenger who was nervous about an upcoming trip. She hadn't flown in several years and was anxious about finding parking and getting to her gate on time.

In the days leading up to her flight, Gwen spoke with her several times to answer questions and help ease her concerns. Then, on the day of her trip, Gwen met the passenger in the parking lot to help her find a parking space and make sure she got to the terminal safely and smoothly."

🇺🇸 A solemn and emotional homecoming as Corporal Delmor W. Erwin of Newport returns to Little Rock after 84 years. 🇺🇸

At just 20 years old, he made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in World War II and died as a prisoner of war in the Philippines. Today, we honor his courage, his service and his sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

🛬 🚧 🪨 TAXIWAY RECONSTRUCTION AT LIT
Work is underway on the final phase of the Taxiway Charlie Reconstruction Project on the west side of the airfield.

This week, crews are breaking up the existing pavement and removing large pieces of concrete from two taxiway connectors that are being replaced to meet updated FAA safety standards.

Taxiway Charlie serves as one of the parallel taxiways serving LIT's primary commercial runway. The reconstruction program was divided into five phases and designed to relocate the taxiway to a standard separation distance from the runway while correcting non-standard and problematic taxiway geometry to meet current FAA guidance.

The overall program has been 90% funded through FAA grants, with airport funds providing the remaining 10%.

It's another example of LIT's continued commitment to and investment in safe, reliable airfield infrastructure that improves your travel experience.

Several waves of U.S. Navy T6 Texan II aircraft are arriving from Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Florida as crews relocate the planes to keep them safe from Hurricane Isaias.

We're proud to provide a safe place for these aircraft and their crews while supporting the U.S. Navy!
