Since our first stone was mined more than fifty years ago, Granite Mountain Quarries has been built on quality, service, safety, community and family. These ideals have been the keystone of our business since day one. They are also the qualities that have enabled us to grow from a small, local crushed stone quarry to a leading producer of industrial and construction materials in the southeastern U

nited States. We have four quarries in Central Arkansas, conveniently located near the Arkansas River and Interstates I-40 and I-30 for easy shipping by barge or truck. We also have direct access to the Union Pacific Railroad, which allows us to transport our material from coast to coast by rail.

A Good Catch submitted by Alonzo Harrison identified an opportunity to improve the way smaller conveyor belting is installed. That observation sparked a Learning Teams discussion with our night crew, where employees shared challenges, ideas, and opportunities for improvement.

The feedback gathered during the Learning Teams process led to the design and construction of a new engineered Small Belt Rack, providing a safer and more efficient way to handle and install smaller conveyor belts.

This is what our safety culture is all about—employees speaking up, teams collaborating to solve problems, and turning ideas into meaningful improvements.
