My name is Chris. I am a police officer. And I have always wanted to be a part of something bigger than me. But I could never harness my passion. Not until my first fundraiser. In an attempt to raise money for the Police Memorial Wall in Washington DC, I orga
nized an event and wanted to invite the right people. What better person to speak to than a widow of a police officer who was killed in the line of duty two years prior? And from my own police department, nonetheless! What could go wrong? I was put in contact with her. She would be so proud of my efforts, I thought. I would give her strength and empower her. But what she told me hit me in the stomach like a speeding freight train through papier-mâché.

Just call me papier-mâché. I carried on with the fundraiser, albeit a short sabbatical for reflection from that powerful and humbling telephone call. Using my lifelong inspiration from music, I organized a live musical show where all of the proceeds benefitted awareness of fallen officers. The event called, Notes of Valor, was able to raise over $5,000, which assisted a team of 7 police officers in their fundraising goals. The team cycled the Police Unity Tour, which covered over 250-miles in 3-days to the National Officer Down Memorial Wall in Washington DC. Having recently gained nonprofit status, Bluecoat Music Inc. is an organization in it’s infancy. Creating a project like this takes time. But it also takes donations from people such as yourself in order to put this event together. A donation will be vital in funding charity events and helping the families of officers killed in the line of duty. Every donation is important and the need is always great. Without donations like yours, we cannot raise awareness for this epidemic of desensitization of fallen officers and the families they leave behind. Thank you for your time and support.
