“Hello! My name is Emma Mazur and I am a flight instructor out of Washington state.

It all started when I was 14 and was worrying about what to do with my life as one does. Then on one fateful day as a gift from my uncle I found myself in the left seat of a Cessna 172. That was all she wrote as my future was now set in stone. I officially started my flight training at 16 with a flying club in the next town over and got my Private Pilot License the summer after graduating high school. I then made the big decision to move to North Carolina and go to flight school full time because why not. By 18 I had completed my training all the way through CFI, CFII, and MEI. Which still doesn’t feel real I may add. Since graduating flight school I have moved back west and have been working as an instructor at Sundance Aviation.

As far as future goals all I know is that I want to be a flight instructor now and whatever happens after that happens. I also plan on getting my A&P sometime in the near future and when the money is right build my own kit plane🤞

I am super grateful to everyone I have met and everyone who has supported me along the way! I couldn’t be happier with what I do and wouldn’t give it up for the world.”

I fell in love with aviation at 14 while watching Catch Me If You Can with my mom. During the scene when Leo DiCaprio was scared of being in the cockpit I said, “I wish I could do that,” and instead of laughing it off, she booked me a discovery flight. That single moment changed my life.
Today I’m a Commercial CFII building my hours and working toward my next big goal, heading to Republic Airways as soon as I can! One of my proudest moments so far has been becoming a Safety Lead at my school. Teaching students to fly is already incredible, but being able to improve our entire safety culture is a fantastic thing to be a part of. From better parking procedures to simplifying emergency training for crew students, has been the most meaningful impact I’ve made.

Like a lot of pilots, I struggled with self-doubt during training. What helped me push through was realizing that when real situations came up as an instructor, I knew how to handle them because of my training. Confidence didn’t come first, my experience did.
My dream professionally is the airlines, but personally I want to fly as many aircraft types as I possibly can. My advice to future Lady Aviators: don’t wait until you feel ready, start anyway. Aviation grows you into the pilot you’re meant to be.
Fun facts: I flew a plane before I ever drove a car, and my husband and I met at a small aviation college even though we grew up only 10 minutes apart!✈️

✈️In aviation, the Mach number is a dimensionless quantity that represents the ratio of an aircraft’s true airspeed to the local speed of sound, with Mach 1 being the speed of sound. It’s a critical parameter for understanding compressibility effects, defining different flight regimes, and is essential for pilots and air traffic control to maintain safe separation between aircraft.

My name is Moriah. I am 26 years old and from a small town in Delaware (DE)! My aviation journey started when I was 12 years old. I discovered a high school in DE that would pay for my private pilot license and became determined to make my dream a reality. I completed the program, and earned my Private pilot license at 17. Making me the first black girl in DE to do so. Shortly after this achievement, I was inducted into the Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame. I went on to get the rest of my certificates at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. After completing my ratings, I went home to instruct in the Delaware tri-state area. I currently am a First Officer for PSA Airlines.

My dream would be to fly the B-777 for a major airline and explore the rest of the world from the left seat! I am so thankful to God every chance I get to do my job!

My goal in life is to leave the door open for others who will come after me by inspiring them to NEVER give up on themselves. Flight training can be hard, but it’s not impossible. Failures and setbacks can make you feel defeated, but ultimately, you just have to push through. You only fail when you stop trying!”

Not all jet engines are the same—each is built for a specific mission:
• Turbojet — pure speed and simplicity
• Turbofan — efficiency, power, and quiet performance
• Turboprop — jet core with prop efficiency
• Turboshaft — power for helicopters and machines
Different designs. Different roles.
One goal: thrust that moves the world.

✈️ An ice-contaminated wing will stall at a lower angle of attack or higher airspeed than a clean wing. Minute amounts of ice (equivalent to medium grit sandpaper) covering the leading edges or upper surfaces of wings can increase the stall speed up to 15 knots.

Ice on the wing also can disrupt the airflow over the ailerons and cause the aircraft to behave in unusual ways. The aileron may deflect without pilot input and cause an uncommanded roll.

“Hey! My name is Kailee and I am a flight instructor out of Boeing Field in Seattle.

My journey is somewhat unconventional, as no one in my family is a pilot and besides the occasional airshow, I was never really around airplanes as a kid.

I graduated with a degree in microbiology and was headed towards med school when a friend offered me the right seat on a local area flight. I instantly became hooked and wanted to learn how to fly.

I worked with an incredible instructor for the next year and a half to earn my ratings while also going on amazing trips with memories I wouldn’t trade for anything. If there’s one thing I took away from my initial training, it’s to consistently work hard and enjoy the journey, and the hours will take care of themselves.

Also, while training I worked many jobs so I wouldn’t have to take out a loan and gave up most all of my free time to study and fly. There are many people doing it this way, contrary to what social media may make you think!”

I was born in New York City, but at the age of one, my parents and I moved back to Ecuador. Growing up, I realized at 18 that I wanted to become a pilot. My mom was my only supporter at that time, as my dad wasn’t initially enthusiastic about the idea of me being a female pilot. However, today, they are both incredibly proud of my achievements.

My aviation journey began in Ecuador at a small school in Guayaquil, where I earned all my ratings. Determined to advance my career, I moved back to the United States to validate my license, despite knowing little about the country or the language and being entirely on my own.

After successfully validating my license, I received a job offer as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) from my former instructor, who was also the assistant chief and owner of the school. This opportunity solidified my decision to stay in the States and pursue my aviation career.

While working as a CFI, I was offered my first position as a first Officer in a jet, marking the start of my corporate aviation journey. After accumulating around 2000 hours in corporate flying, I decided to explore the airline industry and joined Spirit Airlines. Today, I am proud to call Spirit my family, and I recently had the honor of taking my mom on a trip with me, showcasing the journey we’ve been through together the last 10 years.
