Here's a snip from my YT demo of the full line of pitched snare wires available from Fat Cat Snare Wires, and Big Bang Distribution including their one of a kind Dual Adjustable series of wires in several configurations which are featured in this snip. The dual adjustable sets allow you adjust the center wires to a different tension than the outer wires. That way you can get more or less snare wire sound by fine tuning the sensitivity, and the buzz you want out of your snare drum without excess sympathetic snare buzz from the outer wires. Pitched wires work best for snares with a shallow snare bed or no snare bed at all. Pitched models have a bend in the plate to which the wires are soldered. This bend or pitch pushes the snare wires into the head when the wires are engaged thereby maximizing sensitivity, and snare sound. For those with deep snare beds they make the no-pitch models. I'll make that demo video soon. Also note the use of TnR Products True Vibes on the snare stand. I swear by these isolation mounts, and use them on all of my snare stands for a deeper, creamier, richer snare sound.
