To Mercer Transportation Company every load mattered then and every load still matters today. One million safe miles. A milestone built one decision at a time.

Bill Lovell is one of several Mercer Transportation drivers who reached the 1 Million Safe Miles mark in 2026, and we’re proud to recognize what that accomplishment represents.

Bill has been part of the Mercer community since 2016. Over those years, the freight, the roads and the circumstances may have changed, but reaching a milestone like this takes something remarkably consistent: patience, professionalism and a commitment to doing the job safely mile after mile.

And accomplishments like these rarely belong to one person alone.

We’re grateful to Bill’s family for the support, patience and sacrifices that come with life in trucking. Behind so many successful drivers are people at home, or sometimes right there beside them, helping make those miles possible.

Congratulations, Bill, and thank you.

Today is a very bittersweet day for us. 2+ Million Mile Safe Driver, Ken Boatman came in to say goodbye after 35 years with Mercer. Ken was well known and loved by many here at Mercer and it will be hard to see him go.

We tell folks when they start at Mercer that when the time comes to call it quits in trucking we hope that it's Mercer signs that they are pulling off that door, but it's hard to accept when the time finally comes.

We feel very lucky to have guys like this stick around for the long haul and retire from Mercer. Enjoy the extra time with your wife, the pup, & take long rides on the Gold Wing - and don't forget to pop in for the Jamboree so we still get to see you again!

Most of all, Thank you for keeping our country moving!

That’s a delivery we’re happy to welcome. 🔥🚛

Our friends from LoadPay are here at Mercer Transportation for Driver Appreciation Week! They brought their converted smoker trailer—a traveling BBQ setup they take on the road to serve America’s drivers—and they’re hosting a day of BBQ right here on campus.

For owner-operators, taking a break shouldn’t have to mean getting overlooked. Today is a chance to share a meal, catch up, and thank the people whose hard work keeps Mercer moving.

Today marks the beginning of Driver Appreciation Week.

For us, that means taking some extra time to recognize the people behind the wheel and everything the job asks of them.

The miles are only part of the story.

It’s early mornings and late nights. Time away from home. Weather that doesn’t cooperate. Plans that change. Problems that have to be solved hundreds of miles away from anyone who can lend a hand.

And still, there’s pride in doing the job well.

Throughout this week, we’ll be sharing some of the people, stories and perspectives that remind us just how much professional drivers carry with them every day.

To our owner operators, and to professional drivers everywhere, thank you for the work you do and the responsibility you take on every time you get behind the wheel.

This week is about you.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, hold the families and survivors in our hearts, and honor everyone who answered the call to help on September 11th and in the years that followed.

Here at Mercer Transportation, a piece of World Trade Center steel rests in our memorial park. Having it here means more to us than words can fully express. It gives our community a place to pause, remember, and help younger generations understand the lives and sacrifices behind this piece of history.

“We want people to think about what our country has been through and what sacrifices have been made,” says our General Manager, Dale Corum.

We are deeply grateful to the first responders, recovery workers, and everyone who cared for and preserved this steel along the way. To the drivers who carried it with such care, the police who escorted them, the communities who lined the roads with flags, and those who welcomed it to Louisville: thank you. Every act of service helped bring this history safely into the care of another generation.

On this 25th anniversary of September 11th, we’re humbled to share its story. Thank you to WDRB+WAVE for helping tell it.

Twenty-five years have passed. The people we remember are still loved. The sacrifices made still matter.

This morning, we will bring the World Trade Center steel from Mercer’s Bill Howard Memorial Park to the Louisville Mayor’s Office as our community gathers for words of remembrance.

Our connection to this steel began with Mercer drivers volunteering their time and equipment to help return pieces of the World Trade Center to New York in 2009. Today, sharing our memorial piece carries that same responsibility: to help preserve the memory of the people whose lives will always be part of its story.

We remember every life affected on September 11, 2001. People who left for work, boarded a flight, or answered a call to help, expecting to come home. We honor, with enduring gratitude, those who gave their lives trying to save others, and all who served in the difficult days that followed.

We also remember those lost in the years since, the survivors living with lasting wounds, and the families who have carried an absence through twenty-five years of birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments.

To everyone touched by this tragedy: our hearts are with you. Your grief, your memories, and the people you love have a place in our remembrance.

May we honor them through the kindness we show, the ways we serve, and the care we give one another.

A legacy isn’t something that stands still. It keeps moving, and sometimes, it moves a little faster.

These vintage trailers represent the miles traveled, memories made, and people who helped shape our company. Each one carried more than freight. It carried our name, reputation, and commitment down the road.

Now, Mercer Transportation's newly wrapped NASCAR trailer carries that legacy into an exciting new chapter. The equipment may change, the look may evolve, and the road may occasionally lead to the racetrack. But the pride behind our name remains the same.
