Clearly not a G, but some stuff is too cool not to share. There are four of these. In the whole world. Four. Only 39 total slantbacks were ever released for civilian purchase, and only four of them were white — and we have one 📢 FOR SALE. The numbers are impressive, but they don’t tell the whole story - what makes the Slantback special is a design that feels totally disconnected from modern vehicles and standard appearances. No round edges, no attempt to blend in, and no concern for fuel economy and parking garages. Even 26 years after its release, it still stops people in their tracks. Some Gs are built to look the part. Others are built to disappear over the horizon.

This week’s feature from is a 2005 G55 that’s been transformed into a seriously capable expedition rig. Sitting on Tibus portal axles, a Jack 4” lift, SDi Click shocks, and massive 40” Predator tires, this thing has no shortage of ground clearance or presence.

The build is packed with thoughtful upgrades, including an AFN rear tire swing carrier, onboard air, drawers for gear storage, and a collection of EuroWise components underneath helping tie the whole package together.

The result is a G that looks just as at home crossing open desert as it does parked at the trailhead.

We figured we should start strong.

This is a 1983 W460 Doka. A seriously rare bird and one of the coolest G configurations ever built. Double cab. Pickup bed. Old-school utilitarian everything.

We’re the one out here… which is weird, considering they’re supposed to be “off-road vehicles.” Ours just actually acts like one.

2017 G550, white over red, 88k miles. Twin turbo V8, 2” lift, Racelines, 285s, Baja Designs lighting, roof rack, ladder. It’s set up right and drives exactly how it should.

We’ve already gone through it. No rust, solid mechanically, ready to be used. A few small cosmetic flaws here and there, but nothing major, and priced with those things in mind.

Rare ‘92 PUCH 230GE. For sale. Check out the full YouTube video. Link in our story.

This is about as straightforward as a G gets. 44,489 km (≈27k miles), clean title, fully gone through on our end so you can just get in and drive it.

It’s not fast and it isn’t trying to be. 2.3L 4 cyl with 126 hp. But it cruises on the highway, it stops like a modern truck thanks to new brakes, and it’s way easier to live with than you’d expect.

Seating for the whole crew in the back with folding benches, simple interior, and zero of the stuff you don’t need. If you want something you can actually use every day that nobody else has, this is it.
