Welcome back, Randolph College students!

GLTC helps connect Randolph riders to campus, downtown Lynchburg, Kemper Street Transfer Station, shopping, appointments, work, and other community destinations.

Students can use Routes 3A and 3B for service near Randolph College. These routes operate Monday through Saturday with GLTC service available during the day and evening. Routes 3A and 3B generally run about every 60 minutes.

Today is National Food Bank Day, a reminder of the important role local food resources play in supporting our community.

GLTC helps connect riders to food banks, meal programs, and support locations across Lynchburg, including Park View Community Mission, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Lynchburg Daily Bread, The Lighthouse Community Center, and Tree of Life Midtown.

Key routes that help make these connections possible include Routes 1A, 1B, 2, 3A, 3B, 5, and 10.

The Transfer Station (800 Kemper St.) and O&M Facility (419 Bradley Dr.) will also be closed.

GLTC wishes all Central Virginia Community College students a safe, successful, and productive start to the semester.

Need a ride to campus, shopping, work, or nearby destinations? Route 4 serves CVCC and connects riders to Liberty University, River Ridge Mall, Wards Road shopping, Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, and the GLTC Transfer Station.

CVCC students should also take advantage of the Student Universal Pass to make getting around Lynchburg easier and more affordable throughout the school year.

Jubilee is now accepting students ages 6 and up in our free After School Program for the 2026-2027 school year! Download an application at https://www.jubileefamily.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Jubilee-After-School-Application-2026-2027.pdf.

Jubilee's free After School Program provides local youth with dedicated homework time and tutoring with Jubilee staff and volunteers, active play in Jubilee's gym, a healthy snack, and regular enrichment opportunities in the arts and STEM. The After School Program operates until 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. An application is required to register, and you may drop it off at Jubilee or email it to [email protected].

Don't wait! Jubilee's After School Program reaches full capacity every year. Once full, a waiting list will be created. Submit your child's application today!

Had a great visit yesterday at the University of Lynchburg during the new student information session.

Helped introduce riders to GLTC services.

Thank you University of Lynchburg President Dr. Sally Coleman Selden and members of the Board for having conversations about how GLTC can continue working with the University to expand transportation awareness and improve access for students.

🚧 ROUTE 3B DETOUR ALERT 🚧

Passengers, please be advised that Route 3B will be detoured Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM due to work being performed by the City of Lynchburg Works Department on 8th Street between Monroe Street and Polk Street.

During this time, Route 3B will detour onto 5th Street from 8th Street.

Please allow extra travel time and plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed.
