Happy World Pilots' day! Today is the day where we acknowledge the diligent pilots whose labor is so important to how we live our lives. When flying from airport to airport, getting mail from overseas, or even just food from the store, a pilot has had a hand in the process. So we thank you today, for the work you do everyday.

50 years ago, the first Air Tractor (AT-300-0001) was delivered to Burke Flying Service in Rio Hondo, TX.

It had a 300-gallon hopper and was powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-985 engine with 450 hp.

Happy National Ag Day, and thank you to ag pilots, farmers and all those involved in agriculture. This day recognizes and celebrates the abundance of food, fiber and bioenergy provided by American agriculture. An airplane or helicopter flying in a field near you means that you’ll soon have your shelves stocked with nutritious and safe food, or fiber for clothing, or power from bioenergy crops! NAAA wants to thank our ag pilots for helping farmers feed the world!
