What a gorgeous day to add some more horses to our draft field in our winter home, Pickford!

Jake, Bob and Molly are headed out into the draft field for their well deserved winter vacation!

The days are numbered (9 to be exact but who’s counting?!) to see Mackinac in all its fall glory from a drive yourself carriage!

Our last day of the season is Sunday, October 12!

Looking for a draft horse oriented job on Mackinac, but don’t want to talk all day long giving narrated tours? We have the job for you! Apply to be a part of our carriage personnel crew at Jack’s Livery Stable.

Carriage personnel are responsible for cleaning the stables, grooming and harnessing the carriage horses, hooking horses to single carriages, and teaching customers to operate our drive yourself carriages. Our housing is conveniently located just a half a block away from the stables, and meals are available for a small fee.

All applications are accepted, but priority is given to applicants who:

- have horse experience (specifically experience with draft horses and/or harnessing, hooking, and driving)
- are physically fit and able to lift harnesses and walk next to carriages while giving instruction
- are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day

Typical daily job expectations- cleaning the barn, grooming and saddling horses and guiding guests through 75+ miles of trails in beautiful Mackinac Island State Park!
