🚨Season Update! 🚨

🍁With fall approaching we wanted to share an update about our saddle horse stable.

🗓️The last day for Jack’s saddle horses will be this Sunday August 30.

🏇After that, Cindy's Riding Stable will be the only place to rent saddle horses on Mackinac.

🐴Of course, our Drive-Yourself carriages will still be open and available into October.

❤️We want to thank everyone for making this a great season for our saddle horses at Jack’s!

Update 07/17/26
The AQI (air quality index) is lower today; according to airnow.gov, our current AQI is 216- yesterday we were seeing levels of around 600-700. The AQI is still considered “Very Unhealthy”, and with that being said we will be cautiously opening.

We will only be offering one hour long carriage rides and trail rides, and giving our horses extra rest between each ride. We will be keeping a close eye on the AQI and if the levels reach 300 or above, we will close immediately.

Again, thank you to everyone for understanding. We have had wildfire smoke in our area in the past few summers, but never this severely. We’re praying for those that are being directly impacted by the fires, and we will be keeping our crew and horses health in mind as we move forward.

Due to the Hazardous Air Quality levels today, we will not be opening at all today. The levels are predicted to improve overnight and tomorrow morning, so we hope to resume as normal tomorrow but we will assess air quality levels in the morning and decide then. Our employees’ (both two legged and four legged) health are our top priority. We thank everyone for their understanding.

Happy spring (we think!)

Jack’s still has some waking up and thawing to do, but we are planning to open our drive yourself carriages on Saturday, May 16th, while our saddle horse operation will begin the following Saturday, May 23rd!

What a gorgeous day to add some more horses to our draft field in our winter home, Pickford!

Jake, Bob and Molly are headed out into the draft field for their well deserved winter vacation!

The days are numbered (9 to be exact but who’s counting?!) to see Mackinac in all its fall glory from a drive yourself carriage!

Our last day of the season is Sunday, October 12!
