Tuscany & Venice

One of my favorite parts of this itinerary is the time spent in Tuscany and Venice.

Visit the beautiful hill town of Cortona, enjoy the scenery of the Tuscan countryside, and stop at a local winery in the Chianti region.

You will spend two nights in Venice, where you’ll visit Murano Island to watch skilled artisans create beautiful glass, explore St. Mark's Square, and have time to enjoy this unforgettable city at your own pace.

Fairytale endings do exist, and they look exactly like this. 🏰✨🍀

Our final full day of exploring, and Ireland saved some of its absolute best magic for last. We visited the Kilbeggan distillery dating back to 1757 and is the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland. It sadly ceased production in 1957 and sat still for 25 years. The community of Kilbeggan came together to restore the distillery through a labor of love, which saved the site of disrepair. They preserved, almost all of the old distillery equipment and maintain the distilling license and is now open to the public as a whiskey distillery museum and a new working distillery is open. 🥃 🥃

Later we wandered through the lively, historic streets of Galway soaking in the seaside air and the traditional Irish culture. 🌊🎻

Late afternoon, we arrived at our breathtaking historic castle hotel. It was wonderful to stroll the castle grounds and get lost in the maze of exquisite rooms. Sitting by the grand fireplace and enjoying our farewell dinner surrounded by centuries of history was the most perfect way to cap off this unforgettable journey. 🍷🔥

The Sheepdog & Farm Outing

A fan favorite was stopping by to visit a local heritage farm! 🐕🐏🌾

We enjoyed a live sheepdog demonstration, and it was both amazing and hilarious. The farmer showed us how incredibly smart his border collies are, but one dog stole the whole show. Whenever she didn't feel like herding the sheep, she would pretend to be hurt and start limping! We couldn't stop laughing at her dramatic acting. 🎭🐾

We also learned so much about the farm itself. The farmer pointed out the different breeds of sheep and explained how their unique characteristics help them thrive in the Irish hills.

Getting to see this authentic side of Irish farm life was such a treat for our group! I throughly enjoyed my conversation with the farm owner. He was quite the character and he also loved learning about our Iowa farms. ☘️❤️

Cliffs, coastlines, and crossing rivers! 🚢🏔️💨

Enjoyed the rugged beauty of Ireland’s West Coast. We hitched a ride across the River Shannon and made a bee-line for the world-famous Cliffs of Moher.

It was foggy, it was drizzly, and it was still magnificent! Walking along the cliff paths and hearing the waves crash against the rocks below is something I will never forget. I’ve included photos from a friend that saw the Cliffs of Moher on a much clearer day to show you the beauty!

We settled in Limerick for the evening and had so much fun at a medieval banquet hosted in a castle. Every single day delivers a new bucket-list experience! Sláinte! 🥂☘️

Breathtaking is an understatement. 🏔️🌊🍀

We experienced the rugged beauty of the Ring of Kerry and met the local McGill family at their roadside artisan brewery. We also took a peaceful horse-drawn jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park

Words can't do justice to how beautiful this country is, so I'll just let the photos do the talking! 👇📸
