All good things must come to an end.

The final path was made and combines were parked.

What a marathon! 23 days, 12+ hours per day (except for two early offs due to heat and wind) and acres upon acres of grain harvested.

It was quite amazing, to say the least.

Bret said it best when he said this over the radio, “I’m pretty tired. Think I’ll go home now”.

What’s next? Clean up, of course!

We made adjustments on the combines (with the push of a button) and new names entered.

We’re set for barley!!!

And then we went back to Spring Wheat to finish the day.

The fields we have cut the past couple of days have been big.

This leads to a lot less travel times. It also seems like less chatter on the 2-way.

Copyright issues with YouTube means more music for you to listen to while the combines do their thing.

The drone footage helps me realize just what the heck we miss from the cab.

Another good, full day of cutting.

We had a brief rain delay early on this morning.

A few minor breakdowns were experienced but nothing too major.

High temps, strong winds and low humidity = Red Flag Warning Days

We started normal mornings but shut ‘em down right after noon. If we were to start a fire on a day like one of these, it would be difficult to stop.

The shorter days were a nice break.
