Many of you have already heard the news, but for those who have not, it is with great sadness that I share the passing of my dad, Paul Lerma.
He was a loving father, a loyal friend, an incredible pilot, a one-of-a-kind logger, and someone who was always willing to help others. From Southeast Alaska to Lake Chelan, Oregon, and Northern California, he touched countless lives along the way. The stories, memories, and kind words that have been shared over the last two weeks have brought our family so much comfort.
It was an honor to be part of Lake Chelan Helicopters and to watch my dad fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a helicopter pilot. I will always be grateful for the last five years we spent building the company together, and the memories we made along the way. Those years are something I wouldn’t trade for the world.
I know many of you have questions about the future of Lake Chelan Helicopters. New ownership is in place, and more information about the transition and future operations will be shared as it becomes available. At this time, there is no anticipated start date for flight operations, and we ask for your patience while details are finalized.
Thank you for the support, prayers, phone calls, messages, and kindness shown to our family during this difficult time. We are grateful for each and every one of you.
Fly high, Dad. We’ll all miss you every day.
