Amazing transformation! Finally found an awesome Landscape Company!! They return calls promptly, clearly communicate, provided very reasonable pricing AND actually showed up as promised!! Took this trashy and overrun yard and after 5 lawn bags of hidden household trash removed. 15 yard waste cans hauled off, trees trimmed up/removed and cleaned up, weeds removed AND entire yard perimeter of dead leaves and twigs gone. They are hardworking, professional, extremely pleasant and a truly excellent business experience!! I'll not begin to list the other so-called "landscape" companies that despite reputable recommendations couldn't be bothered to return a simple phone call! I highly recommend Auggie and his crew! Just over the past 3 years I've seen a significant drop in vacation rental bookings, necessary workforce and small business owners "giving up" and longtime Keys locals finally exiting the Keys. Whether in search of legitimate Healthcare (it's a "suggestion" here in the Keys), seeking available &/or more importantly "affordable" housing or simply just having the ability to balance work and home life without destroying our brains and bodies they're leaving for good.
I have several of my vacation rental homeowners asking if it is typical to be this slow this time of year and as I tell them...... no! Typically we have our summer seasonals that come down from the mainland and stay 3 months. A little over 2 years ago the campground rates increased their prices and now those summer seasonals (June -Aug) just do not come down as much as they used to. That is a huge loss in revenue, especially for restaurants and the vrbo/airbnb rentals when their family members visit. So instead of having the end of August through October as our typical off-season we're now looking at 5/6 months of off-season. That's unsustainable for anyone who lives remotely paycheck to paycheck. It is a horrible thing to see but I have had so many conversations especially here recently with locals in our communities, people I thought would never leave, finally giving up. 🥺🙁.

😎😁😋 Crawfish Festival 2026 put on by our amazing HOA President and the Mrs.. ... amongst others. Really truly blessed to have found such an awesome place to actually "Live" in the Florida Keys! Andouille sausage, mudbugs of all spiciness, golden and red potatoes, sweet onions and huge garlic bunches rounded off with ears of sweet corn. Delicious 😋! Great people and delicious food complete with a bouncy house and awesome local DJ! He was rockin' the hood! So thankful and mudbug cravings curbed! Until next time...

Venting! So incredibly disappointed and disgusted with "Angel", Home Depot "Mngr". The handicap carts are on the other side of the sales aisle when you 1st walk in the door to the right. SO handicap people have to either squeeze through this "generous" 2ft opening OR "walk" all the way around the aisle to get to the handicap carts. He, while we were there, created this generous "access" and after we'd complained the 4th time. He stated that "all Home Depots are set up the same way" and he could not do anything about it, That is a blatant lie. Key West even has there's right inside the door. I'm thinking the ADA might just be the place to get a better access to the handicap carts. We shall see. Shame on Home Depot and Angel!!

Another crazy FLIP (same day turnover) session. Rock and rolled 4 FLIPS today. Jammin'! All between the available window of time (10a ck out/4p check in). Just blessed to be busy as soon we'll be slowing down as season is ending. Love our Clients!! All reported early check outs and ETAs for new guests arrival. Makes this whole craziness doable with only 2 of us. Thank you so much!!

UPDATE: MONROE COUNTY SCIENCE CENTER ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND RESOLUTION IS FORTH COMING

Valero gas station has no safety seals on any of their gas pumps. I informed the kid that was too busy sitting down and working on his cell phone to put receipt tape in the pumps anyway.

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has been notified. Hopefully no one's card has been compromised.

What in the world is going on with traffic in Marathon? Yesterday I couldn't get out of my house four streets were blocked on overseas highway. Community Park had something going on there were police everywhere but not one of them did I see get out of their car and help direct traffic and let people get out of the racetrack gas station, which is always risky in itself, steak and lobster etc. Has our law enforcement lost their minds?? I always appreciate and have been proud of MCSO but yesterday what in the hell were they thinking? There must have been five cop cars at each end of the standstill traffic in the median, with their lights on
