HOTSHOT TIP OF THE WEEK:

Before you accept any load, calculate your TRUE cost per mile.

Here's the quick formula:

Fuel cost + Truck payment + Insurance + Maintenance reserve / Total miles = Your break-even RPM

Most hotshot operators need at least $1.80-$2.20/mile to be profitable.

If a broker offers you $1.40/mile on a 400 mile run - that's not a load, that's a donation.

Know your numbers. Protect your business.

LANE TIP: Florida to the Northeast is one of the hottest corridors right now for car haulers.

Here is why:

Snowbirds are heading back north. Dealer inventory is moving. Auction cycles from Manheim and ADESA are active.

If you have a 5, 7, or 9 car rig and you are sitting in the Southeast right now - your load board should have solid options.

Pro tip: Call the shipper directly instead of waiting for callbacks. Shippers on Central Dispatch prefer carriers who are proactive.
