Port of Mattawa

Port of Mattawa Our mission is to assist those businesses looking to grow in the Northwest and contribute to the region's economic growth.

The purpose of the Port of Mattawa is to attract new business, enhance infrastructure, and promote economic growth and development in the south Grant County area. The Port of Mattawa is located in south Grant County on the Columbia River in Washington State and is the closest inland port in central/eastern Washington State to the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma. Grant County is the top agricultural pr

oduction county in Washington State, and Mattawa is major producer of wine grapes, apples, cherries, potatoes and onions and other high-value irrigated crops. The Port offers ideal sites for wineries, food processors, fresh produce packing companies, cold storage facilities, small manufacturers, and is a prime location for agribusiness companies because of its central location in Washington State near major agricultural production areas including the Columbia Basin and the Yakima Valley. The Port of Mattawa is also very close to Interstate 90 and enjoys some of lowest-cost electricity in the United States, high-capacity commercial and industrial water and waste-water facilities, and broadband fiber-optic telecommunications.

🎉 Port of Mattawa Joins Grand Opening of Grandview Travel Plaza 🚛

Today, Port of Mattawa representatives proudly attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the TA Grandview Travel Center in Grandview, WA, a major milestone for regional infrastructure and economic development in the Lower Yakima Valley.

Located directly off I-82 between Yakima and the Tri-Cities, this full-service travel plaza is designed to serve high-volume passenger and freight traffic with:
• Direct interstate access
• Restaurants including Applebee’s, IHOP, and quick-service options
• Convenience store, restrooms, and a full-service truck wash

This $22+ million, 22-acre development is a game-changer for Grandview and the surrounding region. Phase two will add a hotel and expanded truck service facilities, further anchoring Grandview’s role in the freight corridor.

💼 The Grandview Travel Plaza is more than a stop — it’s an economic engine:
• Creating jobs in hospitality, retail, fuel services, and truck maintenance
• Capturing traveler and freight spending that previously leaked to neighboring counties
• Generating recurring revenue to support roads, public safety, and community services
• Attracting logistics and distribution firms to the corridor

The Port of Mattawa was honored to attend in support of Unity Partners, the developer behind this project and a key partner in Mattawa’s own commercial growth. Unity Partners has purchased Port of Mattawa owned properties and is actively developing a new modern convenience store at the SR 243 roundabout, along with other commercial projects in Mattawa, including a nationally recognized quick-service restaurant.

👏 Congratulations to Grandview and Unity Partners on this transformative project.

The Port of Mattawa looks forward to continued collaboration that strengthens the greater Mattawa community and drives south Grant County prosperity.
