Every farm has got one. The old barn that quit being useful about twenty years ago and has been getting more dangerous every winter since. 🚜

This is the day that one outside Tuscola came down — about 1,560 square feet of wood frame, laid over in its own footprint. What you are looking at is the middle of the job, not the end of it. By the time we pulled off that place the steel was separated out, the concrete and footings were out of the ground, the debris was gone and the ground was raked back down flat.

Barns, sheds, garages, grain bins, houses. We own the iron and we run it ourselves, so you are dealing with the man doing the work, not a dispatcher.

A worn-out driveway does not need a miracle. It needs rock and somebody who will spread it right. 🚜

Fifteen tons of CA-7 hauled in and laid out over this one up in Hindsboro — graded out flat, edge to edge, no low spot left to hold water. Pulls in and out now like it ought to.

That is the whole job: we haul the rock, we spread the rock, we leave when it is right. No waiting on a second outfit to show up and finish it.

Water will take a bank if you let it.

Ran 30 tons of riprap down to a pond near Lerna last week — a fella edging out a cove so it quits washing. Rock on a bank is the cheap version of this problem. Waiting until the bank is in the pond is the expensive version.

We haul the stone and we set it: pond banks, coves, dam faces, washed-out waterways and culvert ends. Fall is the right time to do it, while the water's down and the ground is still firm enough to work.

Two trucks, two towns, same morning.

One load of black dirt out to a repeat customer in Coles County, and a load of road pack down to Lerna — the fella across from the water tower. Both ordered one day and on the ground the next.

The house is gone. What about the basement?

On this lot outside Mattoon the building was already down, but the basement walls and floor, the garage slab, and the old pool-area concrete were all still sitting there. We broke it all out and got the concrete out of the hole. The driveway stayed because the owner is using it again.

Whether it's a whole teardown or just the concrete somebody left behind, we'll get your lot ready for what's next. Owner-operated, right here in Coles County.

Fall rain's coming. Is your driveway ready for it?
