Over the past year we have spent a lot of money updating 737TY. First we put a new interior in her and then after a prop strike in July, we had to put a new engine in her so we decided to do the 180 HP upgrade with an engine monitor. Here are the fruits of our labors. Please treat her well.

Join us this Saturday at the McKinney National Airport for a busy day of activities.

First we have our monthly membership meeting upstairs at the McKinney Air center that starts at 9:30. Keith Gutierrez is our guest speaker where he will talk about his winter flying exploits. Keith always has a nice presentation and is a wealth of knowledge on all aviation subjects.

Next, at 12:00, we have McKinney ISD Aviation Fall Expo that is across the parking lot in the same building that Monarch is in. Lots of exhibitors, silent auction and food trucks are among the festivities

Finally, if you are an instructor that instructs at McKinney, join our chief pilot, Dick Stephens, for our quarterly flight instructor meeting beginning at 2:00 upstairs in the conference room at the McKinney Air Center.

There are plenty of activities going on Saturday so come on out and participate.

For those coming out to The Brass Tap for our monthly happy hour, we have a change of plans. Instead, we'll be at Dodie's in Allen off of Stacy Road, by the Allen Event Center.

Thank you for the generous donations today at the member meeting. We raised $400 for Margaret Rowland. I took the cash to Pam, one of our fine controllers, and she will have it in Margaret's hand this afternoon.

Thank you again for your generosity!

While at McKinney Air Center today, I ran into an old friend who has been dearly missed. We took up a collection at the EAA First Saturday Coffee and Donuts for her. For next week's TFC meeting, we would like to also take up a collection. So bring your wallets and help a wonderful person out.

For those that don't know who this is, this is Margaret Rowland. If you've ever bought fuel or needed something from the inside at McKinney Air Center, she has probably helped you and did it with a smile. She was in a house that had a gas leak and subsequently exploded and left her with her right leg being amputated. Her left leg had major damage also and they thought that she might lose it too. I can tell you that she is making great progress with that leg.

So if you make it to our Saturday club meeting, I beg you to contribute to her cause. Your heart will thank you. By the way, she says that she will be back at work soon and I believe her.

To all TFC aviators,

Throughout our flying lifetime we have all made many friends; fellow pilots, air traffic controllers, the TKI line crew, the front desk customer service representatives, mechanics, and many others. It's a community of good people with related goals and aspirations. One of our friends, Margaret Rowland, suffered an unbelievable tragedy when she was in a house explosion on April 20th. She lost the lower part of one leg and the other was severely crushed. She needs some help. One of our TKI air traffic controllers is helping to organize a silent charity auction in her benefit. The details are in the images below. It's a good cause for one of our friends. Please do what you can to help.

Sincerely,

Hank Eilts
