Tennessee Association for Pupil Transportation We are in the School Transportation Safety and Education Business! We are the primer clearinghouse for all information related to school transportation.

The Tennessee Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) is the largest professional association in our state and we serve our members daily by providing resources and current information regarding the evolving school transportation industry. TAPT started in 1982 and has consistently striven to inform the public at large of the great value the yellow school bus plays in the educational success of

the students we serve. We believe that our former State Director Lt. Ray Robinson sums up our vision well, "Our goal is simple, to continue to educate and protect our most valuable resource: our children. This goal will never be taken lightly!”

As we are getting ready to get back into the school routine next week, remember:

🟡Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. You should slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle.

🔴Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate the bus has stopped and children are getting on or off. You must stop your car and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before you can start driving again.
