We were honored to help accommodate a very special aerial photoshoot with the talented cast of the ’s production of Come From Away.

The musical tells the incredible true story of the people of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada, who opened their homes and hearts to thousands of airline passengers whose flights were diverted when U.S. airspace was closed following the events of September 11, 2001.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, this story carries an especially powerful meaning. Come From Away reminds us of the compassion, kindness, and humanity that emerged during one of the darkest moments in our history.

We were excited to play a small part in helping bring this story to life through an aerial photoshoot featuring the cast. It was a unique mission for our airport, and we are proud to support the Titusville Playhouse as they share this remarkable story with our community.

25 years later, the message still resonates: in times of uncertainty, we can choose to come together and help one another. ❤️✈️

Last Friday, we hosted our first FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Walk on our main runway, 9R/27L, bringing together airport staff, tenants, and members of our airport community to help keep our runway safe and operational.

We were especially excited to see so many of our tenants come out early to support the airport and enjoy some morning pancakes while they were here! 🥞☕️

FOD walks are an important part of aviation safety. A small piece of debris can create a serious hazard to aircraft, so working together to identify and remove potential hazards helps keep our pilots, passengers, and airport operations safe.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, grabbed a pancake, picked up some FOD, and helped make our first walk a success. We’re proud of the strong sense of community at our airport and grateful for all of our tenants who continue to support us!

Here’s to making this a great new airport tradition! ✈️🥞💙

The Space Coast Honor Flight Welcome Home is back September 12!

Join at Melbourne Orlando International Airport for the Red, White & YOU Pre-Flight Party followed by the Veteran Walk of Honor! Doors open at 8:30 p.m., with live music by 🎶, food trucks and local beer for guests 21+ by and 🍻

Many Vietnam-era veterans never received the homecoming they deserved. This is our chance to say, “thank you.” Line the terminal , cheer them on, and give these veterans the welcome home they deserve. ❤️🇺🇸 ❤️
