Did you know that you can receive real-time rider alerts and updates from the Merced The Bus smartphone app about all our fixed-routes and stops? That’s right, just download the free ‘Merced The Bus’ app from the App Store or Google Play and select alerts for either all routes/stops or just your favorites. And don’t forget to make sure your notifications are turned on for the app in your phone’s settings.

You can also receive service alerts by text message! Text ‘ALERTS’ to (209) 626-1414 to sign up for real-time route alerts and notifications to be sent to you via text. To receive text updates about when a bus is arriving at a particular stop, text the stop number to the same number. Stop numbers can be found in the app by tapping the stop on the route map or the list of stops and then pressing the ‘I’ symbol in the top right corner.

For our riders accustomed to receiving text alerts you have probably noticed a change to your messages lately. Please know that The Bus recently transitioned to a new provider and SMS number but the alerts have continued to be broadcast as usual and all of your information has been securely transferred to the new service.
