Right beneath the boats, bridges and craziness of Miami is an entirely different world.

South Florida waters are home to 5 species of sea turtle — green, loggerhead, hawksbill, leatherback and Kemp’s ridley. Some of these animals can travel thousands of miles during their lives, yet we’re lucky enough to cross paths with them right here in our backyard.

This is the side of Miami I wish more people got to see. 🌊🐢

20 years ago today, the world lost Steve Irwin. 🐊💔

But some people don’t really leave us.

They leave behind a fire. 🔥
A passion.
A purpose.

Steve Irwin was one of the people who inspired me to see wildlife differently—to get outside, get my hands dirty, respect the animals, and understand that protecting nature starts with falling in love with it.

Growing up around the Everglades, I’ve spent my life chasing that same feeling… the wild, the unpredictable, the moments you can’t experience behind a screen.

Every alligator. Every sunrise. Every storm. Every mile of sawgrass.

It reminds me why this place matters. 🌎🐊

Steve showed millions of people that wildlife wasn’t something to fear or simply watch from a distance—it was something worth understanding, respecting, and protecting.

His legacy is still alive every time someone chooses to care about the wild.

So today, from the Florida Everglades, I’m remembering the man who inspired so many of us to get outside and love this planet a little harder.

Ran a little too shallow on a super fast outgoing tide… and somehow ended up with the entire boat sitting completely out of the water. 😂💀

What started as a little problem quickly turned into a full-on comedy show trying to get ourselves unstuck. After realizing we weren’t going anywhere, we decided to just make the best of it, laugh about it, and enjoy the moment. 😂

Thankfully, TowBoatUS Miami came through to save the day just in time for one of those gorgeous Miami sunrises. 🌅

Not exactly how we planned the night… but definitely another story we’ll be laughing about for years.

The best memories usually aren’t the ones you planned. 🤘🏼🌴

Well… this wasn’t exactly how we planned the night. 😂

Ran a little too shallow, the tide was ripping out, and before we knew it the boat was completely out of the water and sitting on the bottom. 💀

Cue the hilarious commentary, failed attempts to get ourselves unstuck, and eventually realizing there was nothing left to do but sit back, laugh, and enjoy the view. 😂🌅

Luckily, TowBoatUS Miami came through and saved the day before that absolutely unreal sunrise.

Sometimes the best memories are the ones you definitely didn’t plan for. 😂
