AAXICO Alumni Association

AAXICO Alumni Association Our mission is to keep current and former AAXICO employees in touch with each other as well as to remember the sixty year history of the family business.

AAXICO Airlines was founded in 1946 by Howard Korth, who thereafter acquired and merged his way through Saturn Airways, Trans International Airlines and ultimately Transamerica Airlines, the largest charter airline in the world. In 1952, Jim Korth joined forces with his brother to begin an aircraft support business at Miami International Airport known as AAXICO Sales, Inc. When the airline merged

with Saturn Airways in 1966 and moved to Oakland, Calif., Jim bought the support company and kept AAXICO Sales in Miami. His vision was to have the company become a leading supplier of spares to the commercial aviation world. Jim had a strong interest in having his children participate in the business which lead to Paul Korth joining the company in 1976. Paul helped bring the company into the jet era and the age of computerization. Bill Korth had also joined the team and focused on the gradual expansion of the company's distribution operations globally. Tom Korth became an integral part of the financial oversight of the company and worked as CFO for AAXICO for many years, taking the company through the integration process with Kapco Global. Colleen Tanzy (Jim's daughter) was also instrumental in the sales and marketing efforts for the company for many years. In 2011 it was decided the best way forward for the company and employees was to join forces with another market leader, KAPCO (now (Kapco Global), to insure the combined entity remained in the forefront of the aviation industry. The transaction was completed in February of 2012 with the sale of AAXICO to Kapco Global

OK, so enough about the history...this page is really about the hundreds of "People of AAXICO" who worked together as a team to bring this company forward and how it affected their lives. It is our hope that through this page the memory and honor of the "People of AAXICO" can be carried forward. Please do use this page to stay in touch with one another and keep the smiles coming...

A couple of alumni have told me that somebody has hacked the site and is offering AAXICO tee-shirts and it even mentions Alumni names, please ignore or delete if you see it. It’s a scam. 😠
Unfortunately I am unable to see it myself.

It was a wonderful treat today to catch up with Cristina Gonzalez and her husband Mario. Cristina and Mel used to share an office together many years ago at AAXICO. We had not seen each other for 20 years, and it was really great to catch up. Cris says a big hi to any Alumni who may remember her!
