Today we’re talking about one of the MOST important travel tips for international trips… what NEVER goes in your checked luggage. 👀🧳

Because honestly?

If your suitcase gets delayed…
you still want to be able to enjoy your trip without panic the second you land.

So here’s what we ALWAYS keep in our carry-ons for Europe:

✔️ passports & travel documents
✔️ medications
✔️ chargers & portable battery packs
✔️ AirPods/headphones
✔️ one change of clothes
✔️ basic toiletries
✔️ valuables & jewelry
✔️ electronics
✔️ snacks for travel days
✔️ anything we absolutely cannot replace quickly

And yes…
we also keep a lightweight outfit in our carry-on just in case luggage takes a little longer to catch up with us.

Travel tip from us today:
USE A SMALL TRAVEL POUCH OR FOLDER FOR IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS.

Having passports, boarding passes, cruise documents, hotel confirmations, and excursion info all together makes airport days SO much smoother.

Especially when you’re navigating:
✈️ international airports
🚕 transfers
🚢 cruise terminals
🏨 hotels

The less scrambling…

Today we’re talking about one of our FAVORITE parts of traveling… the food in Rome 🇮🇹🍝✨

And honestly?

One of the biggest mistakes travelers make in Rome is eating right beside the major tourist attractions every single time.

The closer you are to places like:
📍 the Colosseum
📍 Trevi Fountain
📍 Pantheon

…the more likely you are to find overpriced, overly tourist-focused restaurants.

That doesn’t mean ALL of them are bad…
but some of the best meals in Rome are found when you wander a little further out.

One area we’re especially excited to explore more?
✨ Trastevere ✨

Cobblestone streets.
Local restaurants.
Outdoor dining.
Hidden little cafés.
A slower, more authentic feel.

That’s the kind of travel we LOVE.

The places where you can sit longer.
Eat slower.
And actually experience the atmosphere instead of rushing to the next landmark.

LOOK FOR RESTAURANTS WITH SMALLER MENUS.

Especially in Europe.

Today we’re talking about one of the BEST travel hacks for longer trips… packing smarter, not heavier. 🧳✨

Because honestly?

You do NOT need an entirely different outfit for every single day in Europe.

One of the biggest mistakes travelers make is overpacking “just in case” outfits they never actually wear.

This trip, we’re focusing on:
✨ neutral basics
✨ breathable layers
✨ versatile pieces
✨ comfortable shoes
✨ outfits we can style multiple ways

Think:
one pair of linen pants styled with multiple tops.
One flowy dress worn casual one day and elevated the next.
Neutral sneakers that match almost everything.

The goal?
Less luggage.

And since we’ll be on a cruise for part of this trip, we’re also fully taking advantage of onboard laundry service at least once during the sailing.

These are the ports we feel are the most underrated on this itinerary.

When most people think about Mediterranean cruises, they immediately focus on Italy or Greece…
but Turkey has SO much culture, beauty, history, shopping, and food packed into these ports.

KUSADASI 🇹🇷

If you want excursions:
✨ Ephesus is one of the BIG ones here and absolutely bucket-list worthy
✨ House of the Virgin Mary
✨ Turkish baths
✨ Resort day passes
✨ Private guided tours

But if you DON’T want an excursion?

One of the best things about Kusadasi is how walkable and easy it is from port.

You can:
✔️ shop the local bazaars
✔️ grab authentic Turkish coffee

Having euros already on hand can make arrival days much smoother and helps avoid scrambling for currency exchanges right off the ship.
