The Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad is a line-haul freight carrier which provides service to industries located along the 7-mile railroad which connects it's name-sake towns. The M&H has prime industrial development land available adjacent to the tracks, and we are available to discuss the options that your business has to locate on our line. These properties are already zoned for industrial use
by the several municipalities through which we run, and are available for immediate lease or purchase. The best point of service on a short-line railroad is our ability to offer as-needed-when-needed switching of freight customers, within a 2-hour window in most cases. This is generally not available on a large rail carrier such as NS, the Class I railroad with which we have interchange points at both ends of the M&H. We are willing and eager to meet with any prospective rail customers, and can offer a variety of switching services to suit your specific needs. We also have a 2-6-0 steam locomotive which operates, but only on special limited occasions. The railroad also operates tourist passenger trains in season, Santa Claus trains, murder mystery dinner trains, and other special events throughout the year. The tourist train is comprised of historic passenger equipment and is available for charters of any kind - schools, churches, senior centers, even business meetings.
