Thought from our founder of Midway Adventure co on the passing of one of our old employees.

Can’t cry anymore... we all had the chance to celebrate Nolan Smythe life and to say our final goodbye tonight . Nolan seemed to always smile. He was a joy to have as an employee and a friend. His passing has especially hit home for me. Our lives where quite parallel from high school till age 26. At 18 I moved into a VW van and traveled and followed every big dream I could think of and climbed hard and did my years guiding in Moab and beyond. At 26 i started Midway adventure co. As I reflect back on the time with him and my own free spirit and adventures I wonder if maybe he got it just right. When we get older life can change Responsibilities and expectations from others can be a buzz kill. Maybe he’s in a better place. He squeezed every moment of adventure and joy out of life. Part of me feels guilty that I didn’t have a similar fate as It could’ve easily happened to me. It’s also a stark reminder to live every moment with passion and joy. I certainly have made a promise to myself to live More free in the future and step it up a few more notches. Let’s live with more passion for ourselfs and for Nolan Smythe
