🌟 2025 Community Grant Recipient Spotlight: Prepared2Help
We are proud to recognize Prepared2Help as one of our 2025 Community Grant recipients. Prepared2Help is a Milford based nonprofit organization committed to supporting local families through community driven initiatives such as the long running Thanks4Giving Food Drive and scholarship opportunities for high school students. Their mission centers on helping neighbors in need and strengthening the community through service, generosity, and volunteer engagement.

Prepared2Help also partners with local groups to host events like the Pickleball2Help Tournament, which raises funds for the Nicholas Felisko Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship supports Milford students and honors the memory of a young resident whose love of sports and community continues to inspire others. Through these efforts, Prepared2Help brings people together and provides meaningful support to families across Milford and surrounding towns.

Fairfield University is offering discounted tickets to Monday Nights Basketball game in Fairfield as a thank you to all food Drive Volunteers and Scouts. These organizations have been incredible and long term supporters of the food drive, ensuring we have so much of what we need to be successful, including generous donations!

Today we want to thank our incredible supermarket partners who absolutely ensured our success by allowing our scouts and volunteers to collect outside the stores Friday and Saturday, and providing volunteers that helped us at the stores and downtown!

This past weekend at the Thanks for Giving Food Drive was incredible, inspiring, and reminds us that the best things come from when a community pulls together!

…and this amazing weekends was kicked off with our friends at the D'Andrea Group - Dunkin’ Franchise for donating an incredible 70 TURKEYS!

They continue being an incredible supporter - running their turkey donut campaign, donating food, and being present at our drive. Thank you D’Andrea Group!!

WE DID IT!!

After an incredible 72 hours of collecting, we have wrapped up one of our most successful food drives to date.

Here are some of the stats:

-356 Milford families provided with a full Thanksgiving meal; including the turkey, the fixings, and extras to fill the week (like cereal, pasta, and more!)
-This equated to 400+ boxes of food, directly feeding more than 1,070 people directly!
-Over 100 Scouts from Quinnipiac District, Connecticut Yankee Council, BSA (specifically Troop 1 Milford, Milford Pack 196, and Pack 922) and Girl Scouts of Connecticut Inc. (specifically Milford CT Girl Scouts)
-Over 377 Turkeys Collected!
-Literal TONS of food to food pantries including:
Purple Pantry
Milford Food 2 Kids
The Milford Food Bank located at Milford Senior Center
St. Gabriels Food Bank
The Storehouse Project
Cornerstone Food Pantry
Beth-El Center
…and more!

Thank you to all of our tireless volunteers, our amazing scouts and family, and most importantly- the incredible community of Milford for showing up when our people need it the most ❤️
