How a massive 40-foot container hits the ground off a Landoll trailer:
No crane. No forklift. Just hydraulics, gravity, and power. Here is how we offload a 40ft container using our Landoll tilt-bed:
The Hydraulic Tilt: We engage the trailer’s traveling axle and lift hydraulics, tilting the entire bed back to a precise angle so the rear approach plate touches the ground smoothly.
Controlling the Slide: The container’s rear edge makes contact with the pad. Using the Landoll’s integrated winch and chain drive, we meter out tension so the container slowly and safely slides down the bed rails.
The Slow Pull-Away: Once the tail end is grounded, the driver slowly pulls the truck forward, letting the trailer deck smoothly slide out from right underneath the rest of the box.
Touchdown: The front corner lowers softly into place, perfectly set right on target without touching a single piece of heavy yard machinery.
