We are happy to announce that Michael J. Coakley has officially rejoined the family business of CH Coakley, bringing a unique understanding and appreciation of its people, culture and operations.

In returning to CH Coakley, Michael will play a key role in supporting the company’s strategic business plan. “Over the decades, both my father and grandfather, Charles H. Coakley, have stressed the importance of continuing to expand our service offerings, enhance our technological capabilities, and diversify our real estate portfolio,” said Michael. “There is a deep sense of pride in being part of the next generation and I’m grateful for this opportunity to work alongside my dad and his successful team.”

Michael earned his undergraduate degree in 2017 in Marketing and International Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Northern Illinois University Law School in 2021. Following law school, he gained valuable legal, professional, and business experience with respected law firms in southern Wisconsin, including Turke & Steil LLP.

Reflecting on his son’s return, Mike Coakley, President and Owner of CH Coakley, emphasized the importance of gaining experience outside the family business, noting that it was essential that Michael earn a quality education and develop professionally before returning. He stated, “I am proud of my children and their accomplishments, and I welcome Michael’s energy, vitality, and unique perspective. In a nutshell, we are excited to have Michael back on Team CHC. The future is bright.”

CHC believes very strongly in promoting from within, and there is no better example than one of our longest employees, Kevin Baxa. Kevin joined as a mover and, through continued growth and development, advanced to a Lead Installer, gaining hands-on experience and mastering the many skill levels required across our business. He was later promoted to Project Manager.

We are thrilled to share the news that Kevin has accepted the promotion of Account Manager. Kevin’s 18-year employment journey with CHC is just one of the reasons why our clients trust us with their moves and storage. Kevin, we appreciate you and your knowledge of the business. We are happy to announce that Matt Gericke has joined CHC as our Financial Controller. Matt, who has been in the accounting space since 2012, has an impressive resume that includes 7.5 years as the Financial Controller and Head of Finance at Brewer Company, and 4 years with Mercury Marine as the Audit Manager for Business Governance and Compliance. In his role at CHC, he will be developing and implementing budgets to align with the financial goals and strategic objectives of the company, as well as applying a data driven approach process to growth decision making. “I admire the company’s dedication to our customers and how they strive to not just meet but exceed their expectations on each project,” Matt shared. Kevin, Garrett, Brad and the entire CHC crew on the recent Vision Forward move, received an amazing shoutout from the client. “Kevin did an amazing job. Friends, we are so happy to announce that Marshall McKay has been promoted to Operations Specialist. Marshall joined CHC in 2009, and has certainly moved up the ladder. Marshall’s previous roles included being a mover, driver, installer and project manager. All of this experience has certainly qualified him for his new role as Operations Specialist. Marshall, you are appreciated every day at CHC, and we congratulate you on your new promotion.
