The mission of the Port is to enhance the overall economic and social environment of the region. Port Milwaukee is located on the Southwest of Lake Michigan. Our excellent facilities and inland connections has attracted excellent commercial companies such as Lafarge NA, Cargill Salt, Kinder Morgan, Federal Marine Terminals, IFI-Tanco, North American Salt, Lake Express High Speed Ferry, Portland Tr

ucking and Michels Corp. We are served by the Union Pacific Railroad, the Canadian Pacific Railway, Interstate I-94, the inland river system and the St. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy, Milwaukee World Festivals (Summerfest), Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, Harbor House Restaurant, and the Milwaukee Art Museum also are part of the Port's well-rounded tenants.

Port Milwaukee is proud to share it has recently earned its 17th Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award from the U.S. Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, recognizing growth in international cargo and the Port's expanding role in connecting Wisconsin products with markets around the world.

In 2025, Port Milwaukee moved approximately 576,810 metric tons of international cargo through the St. Lawrence Seaway — a 78% increase from 2024! This marks the Port's second consecutive year of double-digit growth in international Seaway cargo. This national recognition is a reflection of Port Milwaukee's continued growth and vital role in Wisconsin's global supply chain.
