Calling all Ardenwald volunteers! We need a few folks to join our planning committee 💛

It’s National Custodian Day and today and we’re celebrating Stan, our head custodian here at Ardenwald. We surprised Stan this morning with some gift cards and a few of his favorite treats as a small token of our appreciation.

Stan, you’re the reason our school is clean, safe, and welcoming every single day. You’re up before the kids and you’re still taking care of things after we’ve all gone home. You’re also the friendly face who makes our students and staff feel at home.

Thank you for everything you do for our Ardenwald community. We’re so lucky to have you! 🙌

If you see Stan around campus, give him a high five and a big thank you!

🍂 Save the date, Ardenwald families! 🍂

Our first in-person PTO meeting of the year is Tuesday, October 13 at the 1847 Food Park in Downtown Milwaukie!

🍽️ Arrive at 5:30pm to grab dinner from the carts
🗓️ Meeting starts at 6:30pm (2nd floor)
🎨 Fall-themed art and activities for the kiddos
💬 We’ll cover our budget and goals, upcoming events, and brainstorm together on how to keep supporting our Title 1 school, staff, classrooms, and specials like library, health, PE, music, and art

Whether you’re a longtime PTO regular or brand new, you’re welcome and your ideas matter. Bring the whole family!

A big thank you to 1847 Food Park for the space.💛

Our “Stock the Snacks, Supplies, & Staples Closet” drive was a huge success, and we are so grateful! 🎉

Thank you to every family and community member who donated snacks, school supplies, and everyday staples. Because of you, our closet is stocked and ready for any student who needs a little extra support. 💛

A big thank you to the volunteers who gave their time to sort, organize, and shelve every last donation. You turned boxes and bags into a space that’s ready to help kids from day one. 🙌

And a special shoutout to our Staff Appreciation Coordinator, Brittany, who set up a lovely surprise in the staff room 🎁

This is what community looks like. Thank you, Ardenwald! 🧡

Thank you, Ardenwald families, for all your classroom snack, school supply, and everyday staples donations so far! We’re extending the drive through next Friday!

We’ve also heard from the school that they need donations of spare clothes — especially pants — for kiddos in grades K-5.

Every donation like this makes a real difference for a Title 1 school like ours, especially as budget cuts and funding losses continue to squeeze what the school can provide directly.

Bring your donations to the front desk anytime during school hours next week, or order online and have it delivered. Amazing job, all stars! 👏👏⭐️

Did you know? Ardenwald Volunteers need to fill out a volunteer application and background check on North Clackamas Schools website.

Once cleared, these are good for 3 years and allow you to volunteer at your student’s school, in the classroom, for field trips, programming, events, and more.

If you filled out an application when your student was in Kindergarten and they just started 3rd grade, it’s time to do so again!

Quick heads up on what “staples” means for the supply drive! 🧴

We’re talking travel-size everyday essentials:

• Toothpaste & mouthwash
• Laundry detergent (packets or mini bottles)
• Shampoo & conditioner
• Soap / body wash
• Deodorant

Basically anything small (1–4 oz) that covers hygiene and cleaning basics.

Thanks for helping out! Our Stock the Snacks, Supplies & Staples closet runs Sept. 8th - 18th. You can have donations dropped off at the Front Desk or delivered during school hours.
