September and October are two of the best months to fly a PA-46. Stable air, comfortable temperatures, and the kind of visibility that reminds you why you bought the aircraft in the first place.

They're also the months most likely to be disrupted by maintenance that didn't get scheduled in time.
⁣
The owners who fly through fall without interruption are almost always the ones who got ahead of it — who scheduled their annual in the summer, before the calendar filled in and before a deferred item became an AOG event at the worst possible time.

We're seven months into 2026. Here's what the aircraft have been telling us.
⁣
Deferred maintenance is the pattern we see most consistently. Not neglect — most PA-46 owners care deeply about their aircraft. But the combination of busy schedules, uncertain shop availability, and the natural tendency to address what's urgent and defer what isn't has a way of compounding. Squawks that were minor a year ago are larger conversations today.
⁣
Compliance gaps are the second pattern. The PA-46 is a complex aircraft with an extensive service bulletin and airworthiness directive history. Owners who come to us from generalist shops are often surprised to find items they didn't know were applicable to their aircraft. Not because previous shops were careless — but because tracking 80,000+ compliance items across a type-specific database requires a level of specialization most shops can't maintain.

The good news: almost everything we find is addressable. And owners who come to us proactively — before a deferred item becomes an AOG event — almost always spend less and get more flying time in the process.
