At the new Mobile International Airport, crews are installing the baggage handling system, finishing terrazzo, tile and carpet flooring, and applying the exterior coating to the parking garage.

From the big-picture progress to the smallest details, we're getting closer to bringing a new airport experience to Mobile.

We’ve got a new takeoff date! ✈️🏃‍♀️ The BFM 5K on the Runway, presented by JESCO, Inc., is now taking off Saturday, October 31!

Since we landed on Halloween, we’re working on a little extra race-day fun. 🎃

Registration has been extended through October 29, so there’s still time to join us!

Commercial flights at Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) are expected to resume today, with the first passenger departure currently expected after 11 a.m. Central. TSA screening is open.

Mobile Airport Authority Acting Executive Director Adam Hays joined Baldwin Alliance’s State of Logistics alongside leaders from Gulf Shores International Airport, the Alabama Port Authority and APM Terminals for a conversation about what’s ahead.

Adam shared how the move to Mobile International Airport brings commercial air service closer to I-10 and Baldwin County, and how we’re working to make Mobile more competitive for new and expanded air service.

From the airports to the Port, there’s a lot happening across our region. We were glad to be part of the conversation. ✈️

✈️ WEATHER DELAY! 🌧️

For the safety of our runners, volunteers and everyone involved, the 2026 BFM 5K on the Runway, presented by JESCO, Inc., has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 31.

Here’s what you need to know:

🏃 All current registrations will automatically transfer to the new date.

📦 Packet pickup will NOT take place this week. Updated packet pickup details will be shared ahead of the rescheduled race.

👟 Can’t make October 31? You’ll have the option to transfer your registration to another runner or still pick up your race shirt and swag. More details will be shared soon.

🎟️ Registration has been extended! New registrations are welcome, but shirts and swag are not guaranteed.

We know a change of plans isn’t ideal, but with an event that takes place almost entirely outdoors, safety comes first.

Our takeoff may be delayed, but we’ll see you on the runway October 31! ✈️🏃

And do us a favor: tag your running buddies who aren’t exactly known for checking their email

Strollers are welcome at the BFM 5K on the Runway, presented by JESCO, Inc., so the littlest members of the family can come along for race morning, too.

And with our Kids Zone, presented by Chick-fil-A, waiting after the finish line, there’s plenty of fun for them off the runway, too!
