Meet Mrs. B, the Founder & President of BEI Benedict
If you've spent any time around BEI, you've probably heard someone mention "Mrs. B."
She's more than the founder of BEI Benedict—she's the heart behind the company.
Her inspiration for starting the business was simple: she wanted to build a life where her husband could spend more time at home with his family instead of being away driving over the road. Together, they took a leap of faith with one truck, two trailers, and a business run from their home.
What most people don't realize is what it took to build it.
Mrs. B remembers doing paperwork on the kitchen floor, working seven days a week, and wearing whatever hat the business needed—from bookkeeping to cleaning the building and maintaining the property. When times were tough, she and her husband made sure employees and vendors were paid first, often waiting to cash their own paycheck until they knew everyone else had been taken care of.
Her advice to anyone starting a business is just as straightforward today as it was then:
"Take it slowly and go one step at a time. Don't try to take on more than you can handle just to grow quickly and get rich. It doesn't work that way."
More than 50 years later, that same mindset continues to shape BEI Benedict. Mrs. B's vision has always been to keep growing while never jeopardizing the quality of the work or the customers who put their trust in us.
