What is your WHY?!

What keeps you moving when life gets hard?
What makes you get back up after being knocked down?
Who are you working, growing, praying, and preparing for?

My why is my faith, my family, and helping others feel more prepared for life’s unexpected moments.

I educate because knowledge creates confidence. I help families prepare because life can change without warning. And I encourage people to Protect Their Dash because every life and every legacy matters. 💜

Now I want to hear from you:

What is your why?!

💜 THANKFUL THURSDAY — Life Insurance Awareness Month Edition 💜

Today I am thankful to be ALIVE. 😂

I went to work out this morning and apparently the trainer chose violence.

I ran.
I lifted.
I did things my body did not approve of.
I was yelled at. 😂
Then, because clearly I hadn’t suffered enough, I attempted Zumba.

At one point I genuinely thought, Well… at least my family is financially protected. 🤣

And THAT, my friends, is your completely unplanned Life Insurance Awareness Month reminder.

Life insurance isn’t something we like to think about because none of us plans on checking out during a workout on a random Thursday. 😂 But the whole point is making sure the people you love are protected just in case life doesn’t go according to plan.

Thankfully, I survived. 🙌

My coordination during Zumba, however, did not. 💃😂

So today I’m thankful for:
💜 A body that can still do hard things—even while complaining loudly.
💜 People who push me when I’d rather quit.
💜 The ability to laugh at myself.
💜 A family I love enough to plan for.
💜 And God for giving me another day to use my dash well.

Protect your health. Protect your family. Protect your dash. 💜

And apparently… protect yourself from your trainer. 😂

💜 WEALTH WISDOM WEDNESDAY 💜

Today, my son turns 11 years old! 🥳⚾️

As someone who works in financial services, I talk a lot about building wealth, planning for the future, and protecting the people we love. But today, I’m reminded that some of life’s greatest riches will never appear in a bank account.

True wealth is watching your children grow.

It is cheering from the stands, celebrating their accomplishments, laughing at their jokes, making memories, and being present for the ordinary moments that become priceless far too quickly.

Money can help us prepare for tomorrow, but time is something we can never earn back. That is why we protect our families, plan ahead, and build financial security—not simply to accumulate more, but to create the freedom to fully live the moments that matter.

Happy 11th birthday to my sweet Ethan! Watching you grow into the smart, kind, baseball-loving young man God created you to be is one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Today’s wealth wisdom:

Build the savings. Make the plan. Protect your family. But never become so busy building a life that you forget to live it.

Time with the people we love is worth more than any dollar amount. 💜

💜 TED TALK TUESDAY: TAKE YOUR SEAT 💜

Sometimes God opens a door before you feel completely prepared to walk through it.

You may still be learning.
You may still be building.
You may still wonder whether you truly belong at the table.

Take your seat anyway.

For nearly 20 years, my seat was inside a classroom. Today, it looks a little different. Now I sit across from individuals and families, helping them understand their options, prepare for the unexpected and protect the people they love.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, and the need for education is real. According to the 2026 Insurance Barometer Study, 47% of respondents said they need life insurance or need more than they currently have. Many younger adults said a lack of knowledge is one reason they do not own it.

That is exactly why I am still an educator, my classroom has simply changed.

Life insurance can feel confusing or uncomfortable, but it does not have to be. My purpose is to explain it in a way that makes sense, answer questions without pressure and help families make informed decisions.

I do not have every answer, but I am committed to learning, growing and serving others well.

Your next chapter may not feel comfortable in the beginning. New opportunities often require you to become a version of yourself you have never met before.

So straighten your shoulders, remember everything God has already brought you through and take your seat.

You are not starting over. You are bringing every lesson, every experience and every piece of wisdom from your previous chapters with you.

The table has room for you. 💜

If life insurance has been sitting on your to-do list, or you are unsure whether your current coverage is enough, let’s have a simple conversation.

💜 MONEY MYTH MONDAY 💜

MYTH: “I can wait until I’m older to get life insurance.”

The truth is, life insurance is something you must qualify for. Your age and health can affect both your eligibility and the cost—and none of us knows what our health may look like tomorrow.

Waiting could mean:

💜 Paying a higher premium
💜 Having fewer options
💜 Qualifying for less coverage
💜 Being denied altogether

Life insurance is not only about preparing for death. It can help protect your family, your income, your home and the legacy you are building.

You insure your car and your home—make sure you protect the people who depend on you, too.

I have a few openings this week if you would like a fresh set of eyes on your current coverage or want to explore your options. No pressure—just education and honest answers.

💜 SOULFUL SUNDAY 💜

Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is simply sit down, breathe and be still.

The past week brought more miles, emotions, unexpected expenses and life changes than I ever could have anticipated. We moved our daughter into college, experienced car trouble, traveled to say goodbye to my Granny Girl and drove more than 2,500 miles.

Yet through every mile, every tear and every unexpected turn, God was there.

Today, I am giving myself permission to rest. I do not have to solve everything today. I do not have to understand everything today. I can simply trust the One who carried me through it all.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

If you are weary today, remember that rest is not weakness. Sometimes rest is an act of faith. 💜

💜 PROTECT YOUR DASH: A FINANCIAL PARABLE 💜

Jesus told a story about ten bridesmaids waiting for the bridegroom.

Five were wise. They brought their lamps and extra oil.

Five were unprepared. They had lamps, but they did not bring enough oil.

When the bridegroom was delayed, every lamp began to run low. The unprepared bridesmaids asked the others to share, but there was not enough for everyone. While they left to buy more oil, the moment they had been waiting for arrived—and they missed it.

The lesson was spiritual: Be ready, because we do not know when the Lord will return.

But it also reminds me of an important financial truth:

Preparation must happen before the unexpected arrives.

An emergency fund is your extra oil.

Life insurance is extra oil for the people you love.

A retirement plan is extra oil for the years ahead.

A will and final-expense plan are extra oil for the family who may one day have to make difficult decisions without you.

We cannot predict when life will change, but we can prepare while the opportunity is still in our hands.

Don’t wait until the lamp is empty to search for oil.

Protect your family. Prepare for tomorrow. Protect Your Dash. 💜

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”
—Matthew 25:13

🏠 The Parable of the Two Families and the Storm

Two families lived on the same street.

They had similar homes, similar incomes, and similar monthly expenses.

Then the storm came.

Neither family could stop it.

One family had prepared before the skies ever turned dark. They had emergency savings, appropriate insurance, and a plan for the unexpected.

The other family always intended to prepare—later.

When the storm passed, both families had damage.

But only one family also had a financial crisis.

💜 THE FINANCIAL LESSON:
Financial preparation doesn’t prevent life’s storms. It changes your ability to withstand them.

📖 SCRIPTURE:
“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” — Proverbs 22:3

💡 QUESTION OF THE DAY:
If your financial storm came tomorrow, how strong would your foundation be?

This one gives you a natural way to educate about emergency funds, life insurance, disability/income protection, and having a financial plan without turning the post into a sales pitch.
